Sears/SUWR {ShopYourWayRewards} Sweeps: Big Pain = HUGE Opportunity.

Things I try to remember:

1] Sweeping is not a normal hobby - most hobbies you get out what you put in. :p

2] While there is no "rule" that entering guarantees a win, therefore entering more guarantees you will win more, it's more like the Lottery, where ya gotta play it to win it!

3] Getting wound up over someone else winning that prize you had your heart set on? So not worth it, unless you own stock in TUMS or something!

4] Same as 3 but it's because a newbie hit a biggie while you have been toiling way for YEARS. It WILL happen. This is where you decide - fun hobby where you can be happy for others, or ulcer inducing? I pick A

I'm now at 1/464. I'm losing the intrigued part, and I'm going for annoyed with myself for wasting so much time. FYI I always enter the evening right before it expires. My only win was when I entered the day before it expired. I do not believe this is "random" as in a highly functional eprize sweeps. I believe they are choosing a predetermined number or time period and calling it random. I'm going for 1/500. I am definitely net begrudging the winners. I just believe there is a pattern to break.

Thanks! I'm going to just play and stop checking who wins. I'm also going to stop staying up super late just to check if I won and let it just be. Newbie error #1 probably! BTW I just happened to win 10,000 this morning so maybe complaining helped? Maybe a bit lol?

Congrats!! I am so thrilled to hear that! Best of luck with future sweeps. Last year I won thousands in prizes, and I'm hung up on SYW. It has become a puzzle for me.

I also don't think SYW is as random as people think, the same people winning everyday multiple contests? But I've won a few times so I'm thankful for that. I'm 2/347. Do you enter each at one time or all at once?

I remember when I started sweeping online, there was an IW with hourly winners, and they had an updated to the minute winners list. The same names appeared again and again, day after day, and I OCD'ed over that one like you would not believe!

The emotional rollercoaster I put myself through was intense, as was my relief when it finally ended, since I hung in there until the bitter end, trying to be one of those winners. Didn't happen.

That experience {among others} were what led me to developing The Sweepers Credo, and the philosophy of Enter and Forget it! - whithout them, I'd have bailed on sweeping long ago!

CONGRATS!!! Yeah, purging *does* work IMHO - especially when it frees you from the negative spiral and allows you to enjoy this hobby! It's also why I recommend posting to the:

Last time I posted there I actually won the very next day.

It's almost freaky, huh?

I've had it work fast too, but mostly it takes a while - and I've learned posting there too often just makes things worse :p

Just wondering if there is a method to any ones madness here. I have become COMPLETELY addicted to this site, kind of ignoring my other sweeps. It seems I will start by entering everything first, going through the catalogs I need to do, and then suddenly they've added more contests to enter, and of course I can't stop. Do they add contests at certain times or something because I can never seem to finish entering them.

I just got turned on to SYWR sweeps. And, yes, they are definitely time consuming to enter, however, seeing as there are so few people who DO enter, I thought it might just be worth my while. We shall see. I have been entering the ones that expire soonest (like, 11 hours left to enter), then working my way down the list as time permits. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Good luck to you, also!!! :)

I've just started trying it. It did take some time to figure it out. The tip for adding them to my sweeps then finishing them was great. But I can't get the old ones to go away. I keep hitting the remove button but it's not doing anything. Any ideas? Thanks

I am new to SYW, but because of a recent purchase at Sears, I started as a Premium member. Can anyone explain the different levels of membership? Premium, VIP, and basic. I have had two wins in the three weeks or so I have been entering. I don't have the patience for doing a lot of them so I pick the highest points with the lowest number of entries. They can be pretty tedious, but so far they have been worth it. It helps for me that the store is really close by. My first win was 25,000 points for shop'in.

I'm not sure what Premium is, and I find the website difficult to navigate and slow... but here is some information from the website about membership - to find it I had to go to the section on my Reward Points, and then to questions about membership - from there I was on a Help page - not sure if you can get to it directly from this link:

What is the difference between being a Member and being a Bonus Member?
* Bonus Members have a valid email address and have signed up to receive SHOP YOUR WAY REWARDS emails. Members do not have a valid email address or have not signed up to receive Shop Your Way Reward emails. VIP Members who are not Bonus Members are not eligible for Bonus VIP offers.

Here is the explanation about VIP Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships:

http://www.shopyourway.com/help-page/39

To qualify for Silver, you must spend, in one year, $2,500; for Gold, $5,000; for Platinum, $10,000.

Are you trying to remove the sweeps you already entered from your list? As far as I know, they stay there until they expire, which means you keep seeing them, no matter how you sort your list. If you sort by expiration date, with most recent first, you have to keep scrolling through all those sweeps every time!

If anyone has a better answer, please post. TY.
