Sears/SUWR {ShopYourWayRewards} Sweeps: Big Pain = HUGE Opportunity.

If you’ve ever read anything entitled ‘How to Win at Sweepstakes’, the first rule is always: “Find sweepstakes with the fewest entries, duh!” Well, the Sears/SUWR Sweeps are them, because they are such a pain to enter. However, I can attest that it’s worth the effort. I have been entering them for 2 months and have so far won 3 for a total of $515!
Pam, our SA Editor, suggested that I write something about them, which was very kind; but I also want more people to enter so that I have a chance at bigger prizes – so here goes.
They come in 3 sizes:
(1) Small. No minimum no. of entries needed. Prizes: $5 - $50 worth of points to spend at Sears, K-Mart, Lands End, etc. (plus, there are a few no min. ones for trips). There are about 5 or 6 new ones each day and they’re open for a week.
(2) Medium. 100 entries needed to activate. Prizes: $100 - $500 worth of stuff and/or Sears Gift Cards. There are a couple of new ones each day and they’re open for 2 -3 weeks. These generally meet the minimum needed to activate, but just barely; so you’re only competing with around 100 other people for up to a $500 prize – those are very good odds.
(3) Jumbo. 500 entries needed to activate. Prizes: $600 - $10,000 worth of stuff and/or Sears Gift Cards. There are a couple new ones each day and they’re open for 3 -4 weeks. NOT ONE OF THESE HAS YET GOTTEN ENOUGH ENTRIES TO ACTIVATE!!! This is unbelievable! If you enter a Magazine Sweep for $10,000 you’re competing against millions of other entries (like they say about the lottery: “your chances of winning are about the same whether you buy a ticket or not.”). Here, if we can get enough entries to activate, you’re only competing against 500 other entries for up to $10,000! Those are the best odds I have ever seen for a major prize.
The bad news – How to Enter (Warning: you will have to climb a learning curve, but once you learn how to jump through the hoops, it’s fairly easy, but it does take some time).
Sign in to your (or open a) SUWR Account at: http://www.shopyourway.com.
Go to the SUWR Home Page and click on the “Contests & Sweepstakes” tab under “Apps” on the left. This will load some of the ones expiring soonest. There are about 75 listed, but they only load few at a time (they’re really slow), so you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to get the next batch to load.
Find the one you want to enter and click on its’ arrow to open it up and find out what you need to do to enter. Here’s the learning curve. You have to figure out how to: rate products, or review products, or create a catalog, or recommend a product, etc. to get an entry. It’s not that hard, and they have instructions.
That’s it. If you’re serious about winning stuff, I think these are the best odds I have ever seen. I hope you do too, because I really want a shot at that $10,000!

Re: Sears/SUWR Sweeps: Big Pain = HUGE Opportunity.

 hey there! I have recently discovered SYWR sweeps too and they rock. I have won $20.00, $5.00 and $5.00 over the past 3 weeks.

I just thought I would add a tip or two that I have found while entering these sweepstakes.

Before you complete an entry, scroll down the list and click on all of the "get started now" buttons for each sweepstakes that you want to enter. THEN go to the tab that says "my sweepstakes" and complete your entries.

The reason this is helpful is because when you answer a "question" to enter one of the sweepstakes, it will count for all sweepstakes that require a question to be answered. Does that make sense? And if a sweep requires you to "like" a product, that like will count for all sweepstakes.

But if you do each sweep one at a time you will be required to answer a new question for each sweep. I hope this helps! I attached a picture of the "get started now" button so you will know what I am talking about.

Re: Sears/SUWR Sweeps: Big Pain = HUGE Opportunity.

I just discovered the Sears Sweeps too. And you're all right, tremendously wonderful odds. Especially the Total Makeover Sweeps going on now. Odds are 1 in 500 of a $3,500 Sears gc. Wow! ....but they still need over 100 entries by tomorrow. So spread the word and lets make it happen! Best of luck everyone.

Re: Sears/SUWR Sweeps: Big Pain = HUGE Opportunity.

I am new to all this stuff. What is the web address for this set of sweepstakes?

... tremendously wonderful odds. Especially the Total Makeover Sweeps going on now ...

OK, I just went and figured this all out. Some things are not totally obvious, but once you figure it out it becomes fairly easy.

I completed my entry for the "Total Makeover Sweeps" ... but it says it is not activated yet. This sweep expires today at 11:59:59 PM (10/31/2012), which is in about 1 hour. The requirement for activation is 500 entries. When I started (about an hour ago), there were 477 entries. Right now, there are 490 entries ... ONLY 10 MORE TO GO!!

Let's jump on this one ... we need 10 more people enter this one in the next hour (easily doable) ... then it will be activated and the completed entries will become activated.

Kevin

Edit: 45 minutes remaining, 494 entries ... only 6 more to go!

congrats! I am finding my way around these sweeps now too, kind of a pain, but i'm hoping it will be worth the wait. Thanks for the tips

How do you know how many entries are needed in order for them to award the prize?????

For each sweep, there is a threshold. Usually it is 1, but for the premium sweeps, it could be 100 or 500. Look at the info which opens up after you click on the sweeps, and on the right (bottom corner) you will see Threshold.

example:

Sweepstake Stats
Threshold 1
94 Entrant(s)

Thanks for the response! I am entering these now! I started yesterday and it has taken some time but i am getting the hang of it. It really doesnt take that long once you figure it out. We absolutely need more people to start entering at least the big prizes to unlock them. So everyone start entering the large prizes! Even the ones for the points i am entering because it will add up if you win a lot and I really need a new bed and computer. Even it takes a year! Best odds I have seen! Thank you so much for starting this thread because I always skipped over them being lazy. But there is great potential for winning some great prizes and points for what you need! Thank you! Now I am totally addicted to entering them all!!! I also need some friends so we can recommend to eachother for some of the sweepstakes. I am Erika S on there and freind me and I will friend you! Sorry I am rambling, tired and excited to see how these work out. By the way, does anyone know if the points ever expire? I couldnt find it anywhere and I am going to have to win A LOT of points to get a new bed :) soooo.... It may take awhile Thanks again! Best odds ever! I have been concentrating on that website for 2 days now since it seems like such great ways to win great stuff!

I'm glad to see more people entering, so that the larger prizes are being awarded (and we all get a chance to win them).
Re: "Do the points expire?" They're good for a year. If you click on your 'Rewards' Tab it will tell you when your points expire.
Funny story. I've won a total of $525 worth of points so far; and when I went into my local Sears store to spend some of them, the clerk had to call all the other clerks over to look at the register, because they'd never seen anybody with 1/2 million points in their account before!
