Hoping for April Showers (of wins)

OMG! Whining is becoming more of a monthly ritual than entering sweeps! LOL March was pretty dismal - not even a $1.99 coupon from Fry's. Hope April is better - I'll take showers (of wins)
 
Sending out positive vibes to myself and others on the whiner's wall. It has been a very slow 2017, after a very slow 3rd and 4th quarter 2016. I won a DVD and a couple books over the last 8 months or so. :(

Let's hope the tides turn for everyone!
 
I could use a whole truck load of fairy dust, dumped on me right now. This hasn't been a very good year for wins. It's nice to see others winning, though. Just keep on keeping on. Good luck to everybody!!

Well. It's been about 4 YEARS since anything greater than $100 came in. That being said-I have lightened up a bit on the number of sweeps I enter. Mainly because I work an obscene amount of time and I've gone back to grad school - again (I don't know what that bit of insanity is about.) I'm still a big ol' whiney behiney though. I still sweep because it's a sort of stress reliever but it would be so wonderful to win. I could win tomorrow and be broke by the weekend. Yes-I have debt (student loans still loom over me along with a mortgage on a very modest home.) While I would like a bit of debt relief (currently I'll be OVER retirement age when I pay off student loans and the house at this rate.) But I see so much need around me my heart breaks. I manage a preventative health grant that pays for check-ups and cancer screenings for really low income people. The grant isn't comprehensive and so many of our participants are so sick. The list just goes on and on. My parents (like a lot of folks) struggle to make it on a fixed income and deserve to enjoy retirement. Here in my region of Texas, tornadoes devastated several small towns. Since this is finals week and I'm pressured to keep up the same hectic pace at work - I wasn't able to go help with the regional clean up today. I don't even know what I would do. I know that the victims are needing specific items (diapers, towels, totes, ...each little town had a different list.) Making ends meet doesn't mean that I have extra like I would like (that and the DAY before the storms I paid for music lessons for my daughter as a birthday present.) A win would mean I could help. Somehow. Anyway. Thanks for the vent. I just happened to think about venting never thinking it would be read. I was pleasantly surprised to see someone read my vent that was posted about a year ago - thank you for supportive words. On the bright side I've won quite a few books and I can sell them to a half-priced books for extra funds. Every little bit helps. If anyone does read this and wonders what I'm talking about...Canton TX (along with several other smaller towns) was torn up on 4/29/17. I'm not from there - it's about 30 minutes away - but I know it could've easily been me or any of my family. Well-I feel somewhat better. I have one more final exam tomorrow night and a month's reprieve which I hope will allow me to spring clean, organize, and catch up on some sweeps before they expire. I wish you all a win! I think I figured out why I'm not winning much at this point. Last week I entered a sweeps and there were several other ways to get entries, either by facebook, twitter or Instagram. There was also the option to refer others to enter using your special code. I entered all the ways I could except to refer others which gave me a total of 20 entries. You also had the option to see where your standing with your entries are. I checked and I was like 400th in line and the #1 had 1,900 entries and this was just the first day. I think people with large fan or friends base are able to win more frequently. This is just my justification of the limited wins I have been getting.

kollectible - I won the Daily Prize on an unlimited entry [ongoing daily sweeps] once by only entering 1x/day

I also won a 1x [+ up to 5 referral entries] sweeps that was giving away Monthly Prizes of [400?] iPods a month for 4 months & those who entered when it was 1st listed/open had a shot at the whole prize pool - I entered a day or so before it ended - boy, were those who entered when it was 1st listed/open & lost ticked at me :p

Anyway, those experiences have taught me to ignore the odds & enter & forget it - the trick is to treat each day/entry as a possibility - when timing is good, the wins will happen :cool:

I have been been doing sweeps for about 2 months with my co-worker. She has won 2 trips a cell phone and Kuerig among other things and all I have won is a bag oaf charcoal.:mad::( I want to win something!
 
Wow! two trips already! I am in such a slump! I wish I could win a trip, shucks anything right now would be great! I have never gone so far into the year without a big win. Come on big Win! Let's change that this week!
 
I wish for luck for all of us. I am another one faithfully entering with no wins. I wonder if most sweepers are now using social media to enter. I am not on any of those sites: facebook, pinterest, etc. Good luck for the last half of 2017 and happy July 4th!
 
Haven't won since May 30th and my total wins for the year are less than $100. I have won big in the past so I know its possible but I'm needing a win badly!! C'mon sweepstakes gods, shine down on me and my fellow whiners!!

I want to whine a little, I have been on a dry spell for what seems like a very long time. I understand that this is all part of the game. But the sabra contest that gave 50! bowls a week and i entered every single day without winning makes me Very discouraged ! Boo hoo. Its not that I even really wanted one that badly , I just thought for sure with that many prizes I would win. Ok I feel better now . thanks for listening ;-)
 
I'm going to whine. Used to be that I could have an average of 12 to 15 wins per month and sometimes 20 to 30 when I had a really good month, but now I'm down to maybe 5 on a good month and 1 or 3 on average. I am being consistent about entering daily and entering all types of contests (FB, Instagram, Blogs), heck FB and blogs were what provided most of those wins and now I'm not having any luck with them at all. Here it is Sept. 11th and all I've won is a de-shedding tool to use on my cat (which I really needed, but it's not an exciting win).
 
Can the low number of wins be due to an increase in the number of people sweeping or are there fewer sweepstakes and prizes? I do not enter the FB, Instagram, pinterest, etc so I attribute my lack of wins to my not being present on social sites. Good luck as we finish out this year and head into 2018!!
