whiner's wall

Im not winning and I'm Depressed-there is some whining here, maybe it will help

I'm wanting to give up on sweepstaking. I spend 3-4 hours a day sweeping and thankfully I have the autofiller now so when I go to each page it fills it out for me. I've had a few small wins and did win a trip to chicago last month, only bigger win in years. I play that darn moviephone instant win all the time and can't even win movie tickets. I here people on here saying I've been sweeping for a week and won a trip here and cash and blah blah...not that I'm not happy for others. Anyway there is my whine! Maybe it will help me win.

Ah, the "why not me" loop. I remember it well :crazytongue:

It's the reason I'm still at it 7 years later - or I should say, what I realized while I was in the dumps:

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!

Some see sweeping as a zero sum game, where if I win, you lose, but I view it a bit differently - opportunities abound for those willing to commit the time & energy, and while it doesn't give a return equal to our input, if we are consistent, persistent, and patient, the possibilities are endless!!!

:error:#4 I went home yesterday and saw the ups truck I was so excited i thought he was bringing me a win! well it turns out my daughter ordered something a  no win for me...and now the preparations begin for IRENE to come for a visit.

:headbang:#5 no wins for me... gotto go batten down the hatches. I hope to be able to check in tomorrow god bless and be safe.

I haven't had a real win in over a year! I'm getting really frustrated with the sweeps because of it! I love seeing everyone's win postings and am really thrilled for them! Just wish I could be one of them! :(

I feel like whining some today. I have been entering sweepstakes for the last 10+ years. I have never one any prize worth more than $200. I win little stuff every once in a while but I am still waiting for a big prize to be mine. After 10 years you would think I would have been able to win something substancial. But, no luck! I'm beginning to lose my patience:)

Really? My first "big" win came within a month when I got serious. My biggest win was a trip to Panama City Beach from VeggieTales, but I've won iPods, Wiis, Gift Cards, all kinds of stuff. I'm back to being serious since leaving my job last March and I do pretty good.

I never use any type of "automatic" entry software and think very little of folks who do. That said, I am entered, on average, 500 giveaways/sweeps/contests per day. If you stopped to count the 300-ish that are daily entries, it's actually quite a bit higher.

ETA: Sweeps is not a luck thing. It's a numbers thing. When people tell me I'm lucky, I correct them. Luck has nothing to do with it...it's time and effort.

I spent seven hours sweeping the other day and a good 3 hours sweeping a day and I get little tiny wins at best, I want to whine and say where is my big win. I put in all this time and energy and then see someone say I;ve been sweeping a week and just one a trip to hawaii and 10,000. I must say I am not always happy about that. I know that sounds awful but where is my big win. I know whiney whiney whiney, its not fair...haha!

my turn.... I try and try and try, and The past two weeks all i've gotten is a bag of candy. that kept my spirits up for a day or two. starting to get down again after seeing all the 100 gc and trips and rejection emails. I need something, anything.... of value :) i'm addicted but keep going. congrats to everyone who is winning my prizes :crazytongue: :booty"
