How about a nice dish of boiled rice and cooter. Turtle. Nothing like a critter with green meat!
I think deer has a wild taste to it. The only way I like it is if it is bbq'd. Otherwise it is just to strong tasting.

The best way to make sure that deer does not have an off taste is to have the poor critter be perfectly calm when it is shot. If its been upset or run that gets adrenaline in the system and makes it taste rank. So you book the deer a nice relaxing day spa appointment, then shoot it on the way out. Baring that, feed it several bushels of apples over a week period, then sneak up on it.
Me thinks I know what happened to Fluffy last weekend
Fluffy likes bananas, plus deer season is over:laughing:. I just saw Fluffy and Fluffette about an hour ago. Eating corn happily.
