Yes, you do try to see the best in people. If that makes you gullible, then so be it. It's a trait that makes you the kind person you are. Not necessarily a bad thing unless you open your wallet every time you hear a sob story.
I don't give money to people crying the blues. I go to the foster care agency in town and ask for the first names, ages and wish lists of some children who don't have anyone to be their Santa. I then go shopping for the kids, bring the gifts to the agencies, with the names on them and let them distribute them. I know the gifts are getting to the children. I know the kids would not have an exciting Christmas without these gifts. I know it's not a scam.
BTW, this year, the teens are all asking for Ipods. If anyone has won an Ipod or MP3 and you don't have a use for it, consider donating it to a teen in your local Foster care agency. Regardless of their situation, they are teens and want what their friends have. (Can you tell I have done a lot of volunteer work for a human service agency?)
Tammy, here's a good mod training exercise and an attitude hardening experience for you. Go post in the forums over there for 3 months. You are not allowed to visit us. Read everything over there. Post your honest responses. Then, after the three months, come back here! You will be a different woman. You will be far less gullible, far my cynical and a lot meaner! :laughing:

Good God!! Unbelievable!! Someone just emailed me a link to one of our favorite ongoing, life-long sagas from the other place, and someone's ten-year-old son is now apparently eight years old!!! :scratch:
Wow that's amazing and I know who that someone would be without even looking :laughing: That same someone has a deffinate pattern. They tend to post at the same time each week also. It must take them a week to figure out what and how they want to reach out to the masses and subtly ask for something without actually asking. Now that's talent.
