Instant Wins

If you enter instant wins in the middle of the night, do you win more often?

I think maybe it was like that a few years ago, but now there are so many more sweepers entering at all hours. Also, it depends on your time zone. When it is the middle of the night on the east coast it is still early on the west coast. Plus, it depends on things like how many winners per 24 hours in an IW (some have only 1), and if the wins are randomly spread over a 24 hour period. I used to enter around 3 am ET because that was a convenient time for me, but I rarely win anymore, so I was thinking maybe more people won during regular daytime hours. It is different for everyone, so it will be interesting to see what other people think, or what their experience has been.

blue777 - Odds are better that IF it's the random time & you are entering then that there will *probably* be fewer people who may beat you to the exact second - that's why it seems it's easier to win in the early am/late at night

The winning times are randomly seeded not by day, but throughout the term of the sweep. It's entirely possible to have several days or weeks with no winning times as well as several winning times on one day. Random means random, so any combination is possible. Fewer people enter during the night, so IF (wish I could underline that) there's a randomly seeded time there your odds are better 'cause there's less competition. If there was a time seeded in the morning of that day then someone else will probably have won it before you enter at night. IF there was no randomly seeded time for a day or a week then no one can win it during that period. Count the number of instant win prizes to be given away. Lets say there are 10 over a 30 day period on a daily entry sweep. You can't win on 20 of those days as there aren't enough prizes. The winning times are spread over 10 days, but some days could have 2, 3 or more of the winning times, so you won't necessarily have 10 days with winning times.

I don't think your odds of winning instantly are any better at night. I think the only way this would be true if sponsors were seeding wins at night, but as curmudgeon pointed out the winning times are random.

I've been sweeping on and off for a few years and I've won instants at different times and different days.

lol - while trying to be pithy ;

I didn't explain half as well as curmudgeon did - but then, curmudgeon always explains well!

As for Amazon, I studied the big winners in the time of day that they want and they all seem to be around 4:30 p.m. or midnight so I tried and I do have better luck at that time of day the middle of the night
