Why does a person's posts or replies to posts get removed...when there is no bad language used or aspersions cast on anyone or anything?

Are there posts you are looking for but cannot find?

Sometimes the person who posted deletes his or her own post.

We remove duplicate posts, but that doesn't happen very often.

We do move posts, or combine threads if a person has started more than one thread on the same topic.

Often, people only post in the Winner's Circle, even if their post is a question, for example, and not a win. In those cases, we move the post to the appropriate forum and send the person a PM.

Occasionally someone will ask for donations or something of that nature, which is not allowed, so those posts are removed and we send a PM.

Sometimes, people ask for votes in the wrong forum, and we move those posts. Other times, people who have not been members for the required two-week period, just join and request votes, so we remove their posts.

We notify people by PM when posts have been removed or moved.

That's all I can think of now. Hope it answers your question!

It's helpful if you are specific - if it's too sensitive, please pm me or arrtup3, thanks!

I wrote a reply to ealeksandra about submitting her SS#. I told her what I would do and suggested that she wait for more experienced help. Perhaps it wasn't considered helpful, but that's no reason to remove it. It wasn't hurting anyone and it was a valid opinion. One of the other responders was rather harsh about her prizes, but it wasn't removed. I've had other posts removed but I can't remember them. I'm really more concerned about the ability to freely post opinions or suggestions, as long as the stated criteria is met...no bad language, etc. I'll get off my soapbox now...no biggie, I guess.

beedyr, I am glad you asked so we can clear this up. Ealeksandra started two threads, both in the Winner's Circle. I moved one to Questions and Answers, [It remains right here, intact, in Q&A, titled, "Question about a win."] I PM'd her and did not remove anything. The other thread is still in the Winner's Circle where she posted it, along with your reply and her thank you to you.

(I am guessing that you saw the thread in Q&A, to which you did not reply. You posted to the thread in the Winner's Circle. I did not have the time to cross-reference the threads, but I will do so now. I do not want to combine them now...it will just become more confusing. In the past, it has also happened that people are excited or worried, and they post twice in the same forum, or in different forums. It is not perfect, but we try to answer everyone and keep things sorted out.)

I found your reply by clicking on your name, then selecting "View Forum Posts."

Here it is - in the Winner's Circle:

Hi...I know the affys ask for that when you win a large prize but I'm surprised they would send an affy for that amount. I suppose the History Channel is as safe as possible and the people who win a lot will probably say it's usual and OK, but for me, those two things are not worth the risk. I'm sorry if that sounds mean or rude...I'm just old and anal retentive...see what the others have to say. Congratulations on the win and I hope it works out for you.

Here is ealeksandra's reply:

Thank you for the advice Beedyr. The prize is $90 but I too don't know if its worth the risk

In a minute, I will log out of Plus, and into SA so I can give you the link.

...Update with SA link:

The Winner's Circle thread title is "A win" and the SA link is:
http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/forum/sweepstakes-winners-circle/72979-win.html

The Question and Answer thread title is "Question about a win" and the SA link is:
http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/forum/questions-answers/72981-question-about-win.html

One last thing, you can see in the Winner's Circle thread, that I posted that I moved the second thread, along with the replies, to Q&A:
ealeksandra,

I moved your other post, "A Win and a question" to Questions and Answers, and I sent you a PM explaining that site owner/administrator, Ken, has asked us to keep the Winner's Circle just for reporting simple wins, because it links to the homepage.

A few people have already replied to your post in Q&A. The new title is, "Question about a win." Please look there for the replies.

beedyr, Rest assured we don't remove posts by our members, unless necessary for reasons outlined in my previous post. Please ask if you have any questions, or as Amy said, you can PM Amy or me and we will always do our best to help you. You can post freely, and if you recall any details of other posts you think are missing, let us know.

Hi Amy...thanks for you suggestions. Even after 5 years I'm pretty much ignorant of the workings of SA. I don't know how to send a link or use any of the methods you've suggested. I always appreciate your help and hope I am not too much trouble, Thanks, beedyr

You're welcome. Hope the question is answered now. Let us know if there is anything else.

My routine is to login, then go to the forums and select QUICK LINKS and from the drop down I select SUBSCRIBED THREADS to see threads I've posted to!

Previously, for new threads that I haven't seen/posted to, I loaded the separate forums - like:

Questions & Answers

Where I selected SUBSCRIBE to this FORUM from the FORUM TOOLS drop down so when I select TODAYS POSTS it shows me all the new threads that I haven't seen/posted to.
