Can somebody pm me and tell me about the convention, only if it was good

From what I understand you really didn't miss anything. You might want to PM champ about it or kt...both went and didn't have a good time. I am sure the next one will be better though!

That's great. You, your hubby and kids, my mom, her boyfriend, my husband our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I'll be at a wedding.

I have not seen any sweeps for the fair yet. I can't believe it. I know you can get discount tickets online or at Big Y Supermarkets. Let me know when you are coming to town.

We bought our tickets online already. We're coming up on Saturday, 09/13, and leaving Monday, 09/15. We always stay at one of the hotels on the 50% off list with our Entertainment.com membership. We procrastinated a little and didn't get the one we were aiming for, the Best Western on Riverdale. We're next door to that one though. I like staying at the Sheraton across the bridge when they're on the list.

I didn't even see the sweepstakes for getting married on the midway!

Have I told you how much I hate this time of year. The traffic is horrible around town.

At least you don't have that kind of traffic everyday from Memorial Day Weekend to at least Labor Day Weekend. Our roads are swamped when the summer people come out. We try not to go out of the house as much as possible. It can take forever to get from here down to Riverhead to do shopping. Sometimes, it takes forever to get out of our road.

I'll be closer to your neck of the woods that weekend in New Rochelle. I'm leaving for Staten Island in the morning.

Nah! New Rochelle is even further away. I don't count ferry time, since we could get over to Connecticut in no time if there were a bridge; but it only takes about an hour from the ferry to you.

...and here, I though you could spend five hours or so with us at Hometown Buffet!

I'm sorry y'all were disappointed. It was my first convention and I had a great time. I met lots of new people and, even though I didn't get to play the games (which I thought were fun and well-run) I won a lot at the raffles: over 7,400 postcard stamps, 500 first-class stamps, and $500 in gift cards. I came on time to everything, found everything where it was supposed to be, and met lots of new friends. I thought Mr. Friedman was a good speaker but Judy from my snail mail newsletter, Sweeping America, was great. She had a really cute video on how to survive being 'ambushed' by the Prize Patrol or others like it. It was also a way to show how to be a good winner, which not all of us are, unfortunately. For my two cents, I thought the convention was very well run. I don't like music at these things 'cause it makes it hard for me to hear the people I'm trying to get to know. I don't like to drink so that was no big deal. I've been to San Antonio before so I didn't care to see the sights. I guess this one was just made for me. LOL! Oh, several of us from the snail mail group arranged to sit together during the banquet and that was great - putting faces to cybernames. I also learned about new programs, new (to me) newsletters, and new tips on entering. Well worth it to me. But then, I'm a total optimist and very lucky to boot so I expected to have a great time.

 Thank you so much for showing us the other side of that coin. I was sure that many folks had a great time, but those are usually the last ones to post. Sounds like it was perfect for you. So happy to hear you had a great time and went away a winner! Congratulations!

to churchy-sorry u had a bad time but i do not go just for the prizes- i go to see my friends.
and yes i think u compalin to much -as i was sitting by you in the 3rd floor lobby at 1 time.

OK, I have had enough with the personal attacks going on here. It is time to move onto convention 20. This thread is done!
