tell us about them. where they good? Im a huge movie fan and always looking for new movies to watch. here's my recent purchases.

3:10 to yuma ~ A+~ even if you arent a western fan(im not) check this movie out. This movie is soooooo good. bale and crowe give fantastic performances( like always) and ben foster as charlie prince almost steals the movie. Granted im a little biased as I am obsessed with bale and crowe but this movie is very entertaining.

Shoot em up~c~ like the name implies its a shoot em up. I didnt count but I would guess clive owen kills close to hundered people in this movie. some in very unique ways. Its fun and totally over the top. If you dont like movies where the impossible happen again and again this isnt the movie for you but if you like that kind of stuff(I do, think live free, die hard only more unbelievable) check it out.

War~B+~ I will admit im a huge fan of both jet li and jason statham( how can ya not love turkish) but even if I wasnt this would be a good movie. Decent story, lots of butt kicking, and a little surprise ending. If you are looking for a movie to veg out too, eat some popcorn and kill some time this is it.

ok, what have you watched, rented, purchased?

Hannibal Rising B

The Judgement (Jamie Fox war movie) A+

Nip/Tuck (all seasons) A++ (all I can say is Christian and Shawn are nuts and I love em')

Mr. Brooks (Kevin Cosner) A

When Jimmie brought home Shoot em Up the other night I just rolled my eyes ~ but, I have to say that I stayed awake for once  A little bit of humor in there ~ strange movie, definately not for the kiddos!

Fantasy meets more fantasy :crazytongue:

I own an ever-growing dvd collection, and only purchase dvds after I have first rented them to see if the movies warrant being in my collection. That being said, I have recently purchased both 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Both are great, end-of-the-world type movies...which are made more realistic to me because of the impending avian flu threat.

Lets see.
Spongebob "friend or foe" (for kailey) whoo hoo I dont have to listen to the other old spongebob episodes.
Xmen united (that was good, I never saw the other Xmen)
Reign over me with Adam Sandler, that was really good.
Code Name:The Cleaner, funny, good movie,
The break-up, funny, some sad parts.
Amazing Grace, wierd, good, some parts are boring

Ok I am really not good at giving reviews lol.

I usually hit the bargain bin at blockbuster but I do buy 2-3 new dvd's a month. Some times I cant wait till it hits the bargain bin. Where do ya rent from? I do redbox. its so cheap. 1.00 and right down from my house, no lines. oh, and in the pursuit of happiness is a very good movie. I dont usually go for the tearjearkers but its good.

We rent from blockbuster and redbox accept the redbox rentals never have the new releases we want.

We rent a lot of horror and action but I do like dramas.

Dragon Wars~ F~ Stay away from this movie. omg! Its awful and not in a good way. even decent cgi couldnt save this movie. Bad acting, confusing story and sub-titles that show up on a whim apparently.

I just finished watching the entire Miami Vice series. I loved getting all the obscure Early German Cinema injokes in the last season. Now I'm watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer-using this simple method, click on 10 sweeps, watch dvd for 10 min while the pages load, enter, repeat. I've missed all TV in the last two centuries, I have a lot of catching up to do....

Edited to add-I entered just shy of 500 sweeps last night watching the first six episodes. Looks like I've found a useful new entry method! :crazytongue:

Anybody do Amazon unbox? I just discovered it a few days ago, and I think I'm in trouble. It's just to dang easy to download movies.

got some more in the last couple of weeks.

30 days of night~ C+.. little slow going but the gore makes up for it. These are some ugly vampires. First vampire movie I can think of other than the original Dracula that didn't have attractive vampires.

We own the night~D.. talk about a snoooze fest. I really like mark wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix but this movie was pretty bad. One of the first in a long time I wish I had rented before buying.

Harsh times~B.. Christian bale is good in this, of course, the story is not original at all but its still worth watching. It is violent.

The machinist~C... another christian bale movie. what can I say. :crazytongue: This is the one that he lost all the weight for and I gotta tell ya. It was shocking seeing him like that. Especially since Im in love with him in all. It goes along at a pretty good pace. Your not really sure if its happening to him or he is just imagining everything. His performance in this is amazing. The man can act..

American Gangster~A.. very good movie. Russell crowe and denzel are amazing in this movie. Another violent one. Its based on a true story. It has some slow moments but not enough to drag the movie down. Its weird but I almost started liking denzels character.

Gabriel~B.. ok, another one thats not an original story. Good angels VS evil angels. been told before. however, This was a good movie. Its acted very well and visually its not bad at all when you consider the budget was like 150,000... .

I think thats it.. I feel like im forgetting something. I gotta stop buying so many movies.

what have yall bought or watched. Im always on the lookout for movies that maybe didnt do well in the theater but were still good.

We just purchased all 5 seasons of "Grounded for Life". We just love that show and can watch them over and over again. We can't get enough of "Eddie". :headbang:

Just watched American Gangster last night... WOW... What a movie.. I've always been a denzel fan.. I love that man... One one of my favorite movies from him is "Man On Fire".... Another great movie...

Dang it Momma of 3... I just got 30 Days of night and was hoping it was good, after I seen your review not sure if I'm so excited to watch that one now.. I'm a HUGE fan of vampire movies....

I like the Denz as well; he's one of my favorite actors. He was great in Glory, Training Day and Devil In a Blue Dress. Lately I have been buying classics with shopping credits to fill out my collection:

Citizen Kane
Back to the Future collection
Animal House
Sunset Boulevard

30 days is good. If ya like lots of gore( I do)... but man, the vampires are ugly. no brad pitt, young keifer sutherland type or Dominic Purcell in the whole bunch. I really liked man of fire too. loved the scene in the car.. oh and this line is classic.... Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting.....
