what dvd's have ya purchased lately?

We try to win them too; but after they're no longer in the running as a prize anymore, then we might consider buying it. Today, we won the "Gangsta Rap: The Glocumentary" DVD.

I try to win them also but, I have only won one DVD since sweeping and that was 2 years ago, not sure what I am doing wrong. :scratch:

I like buying my DVDs from a pawn shop that charges $3 each and also trade for them. I try to never pay full price for a movie and wait for them to go on sale.

Sometimes I find it really hard to get good dvds that are used. If they have scratches, alot of them dont work that good for me??

where are you buying used ones at? I buy alot at blockbuster and have never had a problem with any of them. I also buy used from ebay and gamestop. gamestop has been having a buy 2 get 2 deal.. pretty good.

With me I am really picky with used DVDs. If they have scratches on them, I won't purchase them. I have and everytime I do, they don't play right.

When I buy I usually buy from Amazon ~ I will buy new and cheap if possible to get a good enough price ~ if not ~ I will buy used and cheap!

I buy movies that I love ~ one of my favorite movies is Remember the Titans. I still watch it everytime it comes on the TV! I also love anything with Morgan Freeman in it ~ I love Shawshank Redempetion(one of my favorite movies ever!) and the Green Mile!

30 days of night~ C+.. little slow going but the gore makes up for it. :laughing: These are some ugly vampires. First vampire movie I can think of other than the original Dracula that didn't have attractive vampires.

We own the night~D.. talk about a snoooze fest. I really like mark wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix but this movie was pretty bad. One of the first in a long time I wish I had rented before buying.

Harsh times~B.. Christian bale is good in this, of course, the story is not original at all but its still worth watching. It is violent.

The machinist~C... another christian bale movie. what can I say. :crazytongue: This is the one that he lost all the weight for and I gotta tell ya. It was shocking seeing him like that. Especially since Im in love with him in all. :laughing: It goes along at a pretty good pace. Your not really sure if its happening to him or he is just imagining everything. His performance in this is amazing. The man can act..

American Gangster~A.. very good movie. Russell crowe and denzel are amazing in this movie. Another violent one. Its based on a true story. It has some slow moments but not enough to drag the movie down. Its weird but I almost started liking denzels character.

Gabriel~B.. ok, another one thats not an original story. Good angels VS evil angels. been told before. however, This was a good movie. Its acted very well and visually its not bad at all when you consider the budget was like 150,000... .

I think thats it.. I feel like im forgetting something. :scratch: I gotta stop buying so many movies. :laughing:

what have yall bought or watched. Im always on the lookout for movies that maybe didnt do well in the theater but were still good.

Hitman~D~ I had a couple of problems with this movie. First, while Timothy Olyphant may be old enough to play agent 47(he's 39) he doesnt look like he is. He looks atleast 10 years younger and not nearly jaded enough looking for the role. Bugged me. very bad casting. If you havent played the game then it wont be an issue for ya. Also, The story was...fragmented? I quess. Its like they had several writers all wanting to get their lines in even though they didnt make sense. Very confusing. Not even a good rainy sunday movie.

Chaos~D~ I hate to do this. I love jason Stathem but this movie was beyond stupid. Even wesley snipes couldnt save it. cops, bank robbers...etc... blah, blah, blah,

The Bank Job~B~ Making up for my earlier slam on jason. :laughing: This movie is really good. Its about a bank heist of course. Its an actual story movie. No butt kicking like in his other movies. Its well acted and the story is very interesting. I was impressed.

No country for old men~A~ I typically stay away from movies that the Academy Awards like. :laughing: This movie surprised me. drug deal gone bad. missing money and one really, really bad dude looking for it. Javier Bardem's character in this movie is frightening. Most pyscho's will show atleast a small amount of empathy towards someone or something. this guy has none. zero. Its like he isnt even human ya know. Amazing performance. The hairstyle is really distracting but whatcha gonna do. anyway, you should check this one out. It is a little violent. But the story and acting make up for it if violent movies arent your thing. oh, and it was nice seeing woody harrelson.
 
Well, we didn't buy this; but we got it with the Pepsi Stuff points we had.

Queensryche, Mindcrime at the Moore

I plan on getting "Third Rock from the Sun, Season 3" next from Pepsi Stuff.
