whiner's wall

me now....I've been sweeping for a bit now, and i've won a towel...just a towel...grrrr...between work, school, home repairs, i'm starting to wonder is it really worth all the time i don't have to begin with...whaaaaaa..... :sleepy:... i need a vacation, from trying to win a vacation....
 
Whine, whine, complain, frown...sweeping on & off (more on now obviously) for the past 6 years or so...haven't won anything more than a $15 GC in the past 5 mos or so....biggest win ever was $1000, which was over 5 yrs ago. Ready for the big one :) GL all! :sunny:
 
I received an email on 8/23/11 that I won some skincare products from a lucky breaks....awesome!!!!! They said it'd be 5-7 business days before I got my prize....still waiting. :scratch:
 
:cry: my 21st anniversary is tomorrow and i was hoping to be able to share a big win with the hubby...i still have 24hours so sprinkle the good most awesomest fairy dust on all of my entries today. Have a nice day!
 
I'm feeling whiney and discouraged. I'm spending a good 4 hours plus entering a day (all the daily, weekly, facebook, instant, etc) and I'm having very little luck. Its been going on like this for about a year and I'm only having little wins. This is turning into a part time job and since doing the auto fill while I'm at the form it has allowed me to enter more but I'm getting down because I'm not having a big win and I'm depressed about it. Everyday I wait and hope for the mailman and the UPS/FED ex guy and they don't come with my wins. No win emails either. When is it going to happen and pay off. I want to quit and give up but I can't and I keep doing it and entering.

I thought I'd rather get this out here instead of to my husband...thanks for letting me whine! Lynn

Oh boy, do I hear you travelport - I was like this for my 1st 6 months, until I finally hit $100 on an IW where you could enter multiple times by voting for a business. A member had posted they needed votes for their family business, so I voted to help her out and was shocked to see I won!!!

That's when my attitude started to evolve - I realized I was stressing myself out, making this hobby unenjoyable, and that if I was to be a "lifer" I'd have to accept some realities!

Like the fact that entering a lot doesn't guarantee you'll win - it just increases the likelihood. And that I could look at other sweepers as foes or friends - that it was MY choice, and them winning didn't take from me unless I wanted to see it that way.

Since I really do prefer things to be on an even keel {I really dislike dissension} I came up with:

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!

Some see sweeping as a zero sum game, where if I win, you lose, but I view it a bit differently - opportunities abound for those willing to commit the time & energy, and while it doesn't give a return equal to our input, if we are consistent, persistent, and patient, the possibilities are endless!!!

Well I have heard that coming to the whiners wall helps. I could sure use some help. Haven't won anything in ages. :cry: Hope this helps. Good luck to everyone else who has found the need to whine.

westdjc-I have never found whining to be of much value. Have you tried Facebook & blog sweeps which usually have less entries, therefore better odds of winning? Hoping you manage to break your losing streak soon!

Maybe I should do a little whinning myself because I haven't won
a thing but I continue to enter sweeps everyday and I won't give
up.

And I just found out we have to euthanize one of my cats that I have had for 10 years. So I could really use some goods news, even something small.

Not really a whine because I won three small prizes in past week, but I am really wanting a car win!! I will need a new one in next 3 months, and I'm keeping positive that I will have a car win before it comes down to buying one. Some form a whine I guess. :)
 
:headbang: whining helps and so does entering and forgetting about it. i whined for cash on the 17th of august just checked a lottery ticket that i purchased on 8/22 and forgot about....winner $3002.00.....keep whining
