Look for the Republicans to take a beating across the board. People are angry and the GOP is the more obvious target, though it seems there is plenty of blame to go around. McCain is not a racist, but he's frustrated too. In a different year, Obama's lack of experience versus McCain's lifetime of service would be a heavy factor. In last night's debate, McCain pointed out many times that he is the candidate with the experience, especially in foreign affairs and military matters. This year, it doesn't matter. He's losing ground to the smooth talker whose chief appeal is that he's different. Different doesn't mean better.
You know, I don't like McCain, but I respect him for his service to our country.
I am voting for McCain. Last week, when I heard Biden utter the words "Double Foreign Assistance" I had to replay it 3 times to make sure I heard it right. ARE YOU KIDDING!
As for the rest of my voting. I am so disgusted with the election year BS that went on with the bail-out bill that I am voting against any encumbent. Not that my vote stands a chance as I live in the most liberal state in the country, but I have a voice and it is screaming "Instead of trying to keep your job, why don't you try doing your job!" I wonder if that would actually work?
The one thing I agree with the candidates about is that it is TIME FOR A CHANGE! It is up to all of us to make the change. Maybe congress itself won't enact term limits, but it doesn't mean we can't!
I have never been this unhappy going into an election. After 8 years of hoping Bush won't speak without a prepared speech, I figured nothing could be worse. Boy, was I wrong. Obama is arrogant and lacks significant experience. The presidency does not allow for on the job training What, he has 2 years in the senate with 2 years of campaigning. Not much of a resume builder. McCain, he is a hero, but there is also the Keating 5 scandal that goes against his honor. Neither person has any integrity, given the nasty campaign they are BOTH running. Seriously, is this what we want leading our country.
The only relief I have is that fact that the president is, for all intents and purposes, merely the face of America. Now, if we could only elect members of congress who had a brain and the ability to be free thinkers, maybe we could get somewhere!
BTW, I don't think anyone is racist. I think the dems will scream racism if they lose. I think the repubs will blame GWB! In the end, we all get screwed!
