Did the rules state that you have to pick it up? If not I would ask them if they could ship it. I won a contest that they wanted me to pick up my prize two states away and I told them the rules did not say I had to pick it up and they shipped it to me. If they won't, maybe offer to pay for shipping? Good Luck and keep us updated
Jeanie Bug is that YOU? You won again?! That's awesome. I would help with this one, too but it's an even longer drive from my house, lol. I think it warrants the drive though!! Congrats!!
This is what I found about the contest:
The selection of winner will be decided by a drawing at the office of Penobscot Bay Pilot at 10 am EDT on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012. The winner will be notified by e-mail or telephone on Dec.10, 2012, at the e-mail address or telephone number provided by Entrant to the Sponsor upon registration in the Contest.
Upon notifying the winner of his or her prize, winner agrees to have a photo taken with the iPad mini prize being presented to him or her at the Penobscot Bay Pilot offices, which will be used in advertising by Penobscot Bay Pilot on their website at www.PenBayPilot.com. Failure to appear, or have a representative appear, for a photograph by 2 pm EDT on Dec.17, 2012, will result in forfeiture of the prize. In the event of such a forfeiture, Sponsor shall select another winner based on the Selection Criteria.
It doesn't look like they will budge on getting that promo pic, good luck though!

Maybe you can offer to pay for postage and offer to take a picture with your prize and send it to them? I hope it works out for you!

Perhaps you can find someone that lives close and get them to pick it up for you

Congrats! It sounds like a promotional giveaway and you have to pick up your prize in order to take photo.
Congratulations on getting the win! Hope you are able to find a representative to go pick it up for you.
