" winner " question

I have been sweeping on and off for 2 years and no wins by the way : ( . Anyway, I have as separate e-mail account set-up for sweeps only as suggested. I usually just glance at the subject line and if it doesnt say " Congratulations" or something similar I immediate delete it. Is that what everyone does or do you open each and every one ? Could I be missing a " win " by my method ?

If you use OE or OE express it's easy to check an email without opening it and possibly exposing yourself to cooties, and to quickly determine if it is indeed spam and you need to block it.

Right click on the suspect email and select Properties.
Then click on the Details tab.
At the bottom, click on Message Source, and you will be able to see (unless it is all HTML/code) what is in the email, and if it is legit or not.

If you determine it is junk, hi-light the email and select (from the top MESSAGE, then you will get a drop down menu - select Block Sender. It will take a minute or so, and ask you to confirm. This will send future emails from that sender straight to your trash. You can also set up rules if you prefer - select Create Rule From Message. Too involved to go into right now - check it out and if you have any questions, ask

You might also want to check the newsletters that arrive in your email. Especailly some of the blogs/facebook and book ones. Lots of times will list the winners inside and you have to contact them to claim your prize. I do the contests at Amish Wisdom and found my name that way. When I contacted them and told them I had won, they then reply that my book would be mailed and they also said they don't contact the winners just post in the weekly newsletter. Also if you enter one on a pic from facebook timeline, lots of those winners just posted on that same page. So again might want to recheck on those you enter.

So you could be missing out on a few wins your way.
