When I was a young 'un many, many moons ago I dated a Canadian that I met skiing at Mammoth Mtn., Calif. She used to rave "aboot" skiing Whistler, BC. I've skied many areas in Idaho, Colorado, Utah and Calif., but never made it north of the border to Whistler. Years later, I visited Vancouver but wasn't able to get to Whistler even though it's only 75 miles away. I hope you can take your trip in the winter so that you can break-in your new snow board. I remember when you could buy an all day lift ticket at Alta, Utah. for $5, and only a few dollars more at Mammoth Mtn. I was a Los Angeles native for years and was always skiing at Mammoth. If you ever get a chance, try it. It's a dormant volcano 11,050' on the edge of the Long Valley Caldera, the remains of a super volcano, like Yellowstone, that blew about 50,000 years ago. Most Californians don't know there's a Super Volcano in Calif. I don't ski anymore, too old and a bad hip, so do me a favor and dedicate your best run to me.
