whiner's wall

I want to win and Im going to whine. Its only been 2 weeks since I won a box of Belvita cookies but thats not the kindof win Im after. Im so sick of the scam phone calls and emails that say participation required. They go in the trash unless its a survey.I will do those now and then.Like all sob stories I need a win but Im greatful for the coupons. I use them. I just want that elusive giftcard, car or check that would put some jingle in my pocket!:) Dont worry Im not giving up. I need those coupons too bad. Happy sweeping everyone!

Oh Please dont think I mean any one elses sob story is not true I just mean my story is like alot of peoples health issues, parttime work. Its tight . But I love this hobby too.Winning is always FUN.

It's people who use a sob story for gain {for attention, money, or whatever} who deserve the "sob story" designation - if it's real to YOU, then no, it's NOT a sob story!

Ok I am off on my english.I guess I was thinking sob story = hard knocks and it probly means fibbing.I think even if its true Im not going to go and beg for a win. Ive seen people do that and wonder if it ever works but Im ok .I will just keep clipping coupons I dont need to do that. Ive seen people say my husband has cancer and my son is a drugaddict and my car broke down. I feel really bad for them but also think there are millions who enter ,have the same exact issues and never beg for a win.

Oh man - have such a literal mind, I didn't even think about how I'd sound! I just meant I didn't think you had a sob story

waaaaahhhhhh......I have not won in what seems like forever....(probably only a month)....hoping the whiners wall helps

No worries Amy instead of whining about losing I should have my butt out there trying to win more.,however whining seems to releive a bit of stress.lol

Oh yes, it truly does relieve stress! It's what I use to keep from burning out when taking a break, distracting myself answering questions, or hard charging doesn't produce results!

No negative spiral for me, TYVM!!! :p

OK This month started off promising but now I have been in a rut - Im hoping this helps (as it did before) Whine Whine Whine
(come on Dream Home !!!! lol )

I am not whining really, but wanted to ask a question...do you ever get discouraged when you feel like a certain contest is YOURS and you lose? Like I understand my chances are slim for most of the contests I enter, but there are some where I write something, create something, share something, or really put in effort in some way OR where its local and small pool of entrants, that I REAAAALLLY think "this is mine"! Then I lose. Its frustrating. All my wins have been completely random and NOT the wons I was certain I would win - maybe thats a lesson.

I learned that the more I wanted to win a certain sweeps/prize, the less likely I would win it. As in nada, bupkus. It's one of the many things that motivated me to write the sweepers credo - I even address it:

The Sweeper's Credo:

Enter and forget it.

Always be happy for those who win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win.

If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!!

I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

So hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - and you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!

Thanks Amy! I have read that before and its a good reminder to see it now. Sometimes I do wonder if having "sweeps" in my email address name may be viewed negatively, but I do win regularly, just not the ones that I really think I will win- just like you said :)

Got to be honest I'm feeling pretty burned out. Been playing since August and won some amazing prizes. The last few months, nothing, but I've also slowed down a lot, anyone have advice for sweepstakes burnout? Should I take a break or keep on keepin on? I'm afraid if I stop I won't get back into it.

You are at the tipping point - those of us who got past it usually changed our focus.

So, instead of a win, any win, we became more selective. Yes, you will enter fewer sweeps, but when you win from them, it will be something you *really* wanted.

The other direction is immersion - no distractions, just go through every category and scour the listings for any prize you'd like to win.

As you note, the break is a risky option, but I've seen many people who entered for a few months/a year, hit the wall and stopped, and then got a surprise win that got them back into the game, so don't despair!

That you DO win with "sweeps" in your addy indicates to me that sponsors really do randomly draw, so I wouldn't sweat it!

Sort of a newbie, but my turn to whine.Going on 3 Months since I started, not a nibble.I seriously need some cash, and personally wouldn't even consider some kind of "coupon" a win.But haven't even got that much. But if positive thoughts have any energy ,I am sending them out to all of you.Best of Luck1

kevo2000 - while some do win right off, most enter faithfully {as in daily} for months {the norm is 6} or sometimes even years before they hit. It's all a matter of timing, and it can come and go. The trick to sticking it out with this hobby is in acknowledging that you can only control what you do. Sweeping should be fun!

Its been a long time since I have seen my UPS man. Heres a hacheted stolen ODE to MY UPS Man. Aint no sunshine when hes gone, aint no moonlight above, aint no sunshine when hes gone and my UPS mans always gone too long. Wonder if he'll come today? No alerts so I say no way. Aint no sunshine when hes gone and my UPS man always gone too long.I know . I know. I know . I know I ought to leave the sweepstakes alone but aint no sunshine when the UPS man is gone.

I just want to know wheres so many of the little prizes I have won that never came. Its like you never won them at all.Sometimes I contact sponsors and still never receive them.ugh

Alrighty- Here goesthis is my first ever whine.... I usually have AMAZING luck... to the point that it baffles me and my family. It seems my luck has run out (OH NO YOU DON"T LUCK GET YOUR BUTT BACK HERE) I have not even won a coupon in the past 2+ months.... before I was winning something once a week or more... Insult to injury time- I was participating in a rafflecopter contest that started in January and up until the day before (march 5th) the contest had about 800 entires (126 mine) great odds right! UH NO less that 14 hours before it ends it shoots up to 7,000 + entries.... Seriously LOL I didn't win, oh well on to the next. well here is one more whine for ya and I guess this is the straw that broke the camels back. Hubby is Army so he trains a lot, okay I knew what we were signing up for with 5+ years in ya get used to it but.... He just got home from a "mission" on March 1st, then March 3rd they moved him to a new unit... SURPRISE your leaving again he left yesterday and said 1 week, well he called today and nope he will be gone 2 weeks UGH... sorry to vent and wine here but I am 3,000 miles from "home" and haven't made friends that are wineable too yet. You all are such fantastic people so I hope you don't mind me whining :( Anyways Good Luck to everyone!
