can't believe all these sweeps I have entered. Checked over 5000 emails, not to win anything. Hoping to get lucky this week and win a nice prize. Thanks still for all the sweeps SA and Facebook.

here's my whine, I enter pretty much every thing going and then i see some people winning and winning and winning, people who win multiple trips every year and all the big prizes and it makes me wonder how many people are just dishonest, finding ways around entry restrictions and basically ripping off the system at the expense of everyone else. Maybe it's not fair to suspect that but some people seem to win well above the odds. I don't think I am owed prizes because I enter, I roll my eyes when I see people saying "finally.." when they win prizes as if it was some sort of entitlement issue. I just don't like the idea of cheats prospering. i am not pointing fingers at anyone, just having a whine....

My 1st 6 months or so, I believed the worst too {there was an hourly win that the same people won almost daily on that set me off} but when it got to the point where I believed the worst of others IRL? I had to check myself or quit sweeping
I decided on letting go and letting the sweeps gods do their part while I did mine.
That was the 1st step - then I started putting together what ultimately became the sweeper's credo:

Enter and forget it.
Always be happy for those who win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.
Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win.
If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.
I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!!
I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!
So hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - and you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!

My first whine. Sweeping since August and have won a few decent things, BUT I can't for the life of me win an Instant. The most I have won is a coupon. I try at all different times, wait till the clock hit's zeros, try early in the morning, late at night. I just can't win an instant! I see people winning on them all the time.

I am going to try the whiner's wall....I have been sweeping hard for about 6 months. Sporadic since 2010. Haven't won anything but a box of uniball pens....are there tricks that I am missing? What is the robo thing and does it help?

I think if you start using robo I'm sure you will find it helps. You can enter more contests much faster. It won't disqualify you since you have to hit the submit button/captchas yourself. It's worth the 10 bucks a year (you get a free trial). I wouldn't recommend sweeping with out it. My whine here helped and the very next day I won my first instant.

You'll find this verbiage is boilerplate in most IW sweeps;
...random, computer-generated winning times... If you are the first player to play the Instant Win Game at or after one of the randomly generated times, you will be a potential instant winner of the prize indicated.
Also some IW's will draw winners if the timed winner is DQ'ed or fails to validate their win {2nd chance draw} - I won a laptop that way!
If I go for a long time without an IW win, I change up my entry order and/or the time of day I play.
I've found that the more I focus on NOT hitting on IW's, the less I enjoy this hobby, so I really do just enter & forget it, and keep the hope of winning on a 2nd chance draw!

I need a quick whine: Every year in the past Christmas time brought some nice wins to me... Not this year. It has been soooo slow. This is the first year since I started sweeping when I haven't won anything! (well besides a coupon for a carmex product) And I spend hours entering every single day...
Ditto. I usually hit 1 decent size win, but not this year. Not sure, but I think my biggest win came shortly after the last time this happened, so I hold out hope we are just late bloomers!
I have entered and entered this year.I get most aggravated by the blogs I enter.I feel like I get tired of having to track down their winners lists on facebook or the blog.One lists people from last year and I can never find a current list. Some email people but many do not so you have to fend for yourself and keep checking lists.Still I have won some wine and a purse ,some lipgloss so its a good hobby.Happy Sweeping and happy Newyear everyone just 2 more days!

I had this same problem. I have Gmail, so I set up a GoogleAlert for my name on the entire internet & it sends me an e-mail if my name is anywhere on the web, winners list or not. EASY! Google Alerts - Monitor the Web for interesting new content
No need to have google - check out this thread on how to set up an alert - or 3
