Which sweeps do you like?

I like entering any free sweeps - I figure they're always worth a shot and you only have a shot if you enter!

But I know that personally, there is some info that I just won't share. And being ever the skeptic, I always wonder what is and isn't legit. What things make you decide to enter or not enter a sweeps?
 
I don't enter blogs, or any other sweep where I dont' know who the sponsor is.

And the only info I'm willing to share is name, address, and sometimes phone number.

I've seen sweeps where they want to know your nationality and income.....no one needs to know that.
 
My favorite are the instant win sweepstakes. I have also had some luck winning Blogs. Some Blog sweeps have very little competition and better odds. :)
 
I love all sweepstakes equally. I've won many times from all of them. The blogs are great because of lower number of entries, and most prizes are put up by known/big-name sponsors. I don't have a problem distinguishing what out there is a scam, and I don't have a problem giving information that I know the sponsor would need for the IRS.

With the blogs, just about all the prizes you win are shipped directly from the sponsor or their judging agency--i.e. Proctor & Gamble, Pillsbury, General Mills, etc.
 
I love the hgtv.com dream house sweeps because they pay the taxes on the prize. How can you beat that! Any sponsor who pays the taxes on the prize is awesome! Overstock.com did the same thing for all of 2009 in their sweeps. :wave:

I haven't looked at the Overstock one; but on the HGTV one, the money they give you with the prize still isn't nearly enough to cover the taxes. Plus, unfortunately, you still have to report that money to the IRS along with the rest of the prize. It's still considered taxable income. :(
 
I don't think anyone has ever been able to keep the HGTV Dream home. I believe all the past winners have sold it, because they couldn't afford the taxes. They should put them in more reasonable spots. And they should pay the taxes, that way the winners can afford to stay there.

My favorites are the instant win sweeps. You know right then and there if you've won. But, I'm also fond of the wins that just show up at the door unexpectedly.
 
Har! The prunes made me laugh too! I like the blogs, neat handmade things and have made a few friends. I like the instant wins except when the entry is lengthy and sweep lasts a long time, I start getting tired of playing the game. Daily entries are cool 'cause I better my odds if I keep at it, but one entry is fast and often a surprise because I might forget about it and then a win a prize.

I like the creative contests, where you have to write an essay or make art and the sponsor judges it.

I think my least favorite are the ones where you need everyone to vote, even though I've won that way before I don't like to bother everyone about it.
