When you win a big prize

For those of you who have won something really big---when you won, did you stop sweeping for a while to celebrate or did you want to do more because you got the good taste of winning??

I just won the GP at the Best Western thing, and my husband tells me to stop now and take a break, but I can't seem to get my fingers off the computer, entering more and more!

I kept on going because of the fun factor but also look @ it realistically that someone will win so why not me , if you win again, great if not there is still the possibility :sunny:

Actually this part of your question caught my eye:

my husband tells me to stop now and take a break

Why? Are you neglecting other parts of your life? Is he worried about the taxes? Superstition on his part (as in, you won't win again so soon)? Some other reason?

I've never won big, but I take breaks when I stop having fun. I guess I'm a pretty "casual" sweeper by comparison to others here.

No, I don't think I am neglecting things in my life--I really only do about 100 sweeps per day, I think, and I don't do it on weekends. I generally do it before the kids wake up and after they go to bed. Sometimes I'll sneak in a few in the middle of the day. Unless I get caught up in the forums, I generally only spend about 1-2 hours doing them. Some days I'll skip, especially the dailies.

He just really thinks it's silly to enter these (even though he's thrilled about the wins!).

And I must admit that sometimes when he walks into a room and I am doing an IW game that is now "normal" to me, it must look really silly to him--the one that comes to mind is the one where we had to zap the bugs. I could never find the "skip the game" button so actually zapped away. He saw that one a few times and just shook his head and laughed at me....

But I love sweeps, and will actually have to take a break the next week or so because I need to finish my daughter's quilt that I am making her.

I guess it depends on what each person considers big prize.. I won 3,000.. and I still enter like I used too. that was a big prize to me.. If I won 25,50 or 100. thousand dollars would I keep entering.. probably.

i have entered about 1000 contest and have not even won a key chain or a pen...if I won big I would take a break for awhile....my fingers hurt.

I kept going after winning the Tailgator, but after a few months of not winning anything after that, I got distracted by World of Warcraft, and stayed away from sweeping for a while.

I'm sweeping more now because with the economy tanking, I'm trying to bring in anything I can into the household. Every little bit helps - I won shampoo & conditioner last week - hey, that's another month that I don't need to buy that, right?

I'm almost considering this a part-time job, now, and have referred a few ladies that are struggling financially to do the same, since they are disabled and cannot find a work at home job.

A win is a win is a win. Keep Going. You cant win if you dont play/enter.

I take breaks here and there. I dont stress over not entering the daily's or instant wins if I go out of town or if I'm busy on the weekends.

I try and enter the one per person sweeps far enough in advance that if I miss a few days, my names already in the sweeps when it ends.

My motto is KEEP ON SWEEPING
