When do you give up the fight for your win?

Ever been notified that you won and didn't receive your prize? How hard do you fight for it? When do you decide to just give up?

In Dec 2007, I was notified that I had won a $100 American Express gift card from Woman's Day for doing a survey for them. Email said to allow 12 weeks for fulfillment. The 12 weeks came and went, I waited a few more weeks and emailed them back politely asking about my prize. No response back, waited another week and emailed again, no response. I have emailed their website and the Editors. I have called the number listed in the mag, first no one answered, tried again and got transfered to voice mail, left message and asked to be called back. A total of 6 emails and one phone call. I have not received a single reply from them. Someone could have emailed me back and said I had the wrong email address, the card was already sent, it will be a while longer or even we lied.

I had thought better of Woman's Day. I have subscribed to their magazine for a few years. I don't think I will renew. I am thinking of sending a snail mail letter to them. Hey, a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. If it would have been a DVD or CD I would have already given up.

Thanks

This is a good question, and I'm wondering what people will say.

Still waiting here for a trip voucher I won in Dec. from Alaska Airlines, worth $1,600. The rules said wait 8-10 weeks, and when I asked about it I got a response the first time. None the second or third times. Alaska Airlines customer service keeps bouncing me back and forth to different departments. This is really a problem, because we're talking about a big win here. ePrize is the JA.

I noticed that in general, it's harder to win and prize arrive slower than they used to. I'm waiting for loads of little prizes won months ago. ePrize is the JA for most of these, and they're taking longer to send the wins out.

I had won a big prize from Woman's Day, and it took much longer to get than it was supposed to. In this case, the problem was out of their hands. The company supplying the pallet of flooring we won moved. So, the prize ended up being delivered much later than stipulated. The JA for that one, who happened to be located out here on Old Country Road, was very friendly and helpful.

Have you tried contacting the JA running the sweepstakes for Woman's Day. They're the ones you usually need to deal with first.

They handle and run the sweepstakes for the sponsor--fulfillment company. For example, ePrize is a JA.

I don't think Woman's Day's rules show who the JA is, but they were a company out here on Long Island. When I got the letter and affidavit, the letterhead had Woman's Day in one of the upper corners, but there was a totally different company name and address on top. They were the ones I dealt with regarding the delay in my prize.

I gave up twice. Eprize sent the prizes, fed-ex allowed someone who came to my yard get them and I never seen the prizes. I emailed eprize, sent certified letters to the companies who gave the prizes away and since eprize said they fullfilled the prizes I was basically SOL. One was a pair of $475 diamond earrings and the other was a $280 basketball hoop from sprite.

Clothes off some fashion mag cover (about two years ago). Sent an affy, called, wrote...everybody had a reason why it wasn't coming. The was supposed to get something of equal or greater...then the mag went out of business (I'm not naming names but yall know who I'm talking about). At that point I was like, waste of further effort. :nono:

Contact ePrize directly - not the company whose sweep it is. ePrize (if they are the JA) would be the ones who would handle this. I've contaced them on a few things and they've always been super helpful.

I had won a $200 gift card from Woman's Day. It never came. I copied the winning email and all the correspondence emails and sent to Woman's Day headquarters, which i believe was the magazine address. (it was so long ago.)and within 2 weeks i received my prize.
