What's up with the canadian questions?

I was just curious why it says in some sweeps that allow canadian residents:

A Canadian resident selected as a potential Winner (as defined below) must correctly answer an unaided, time-limited, skill-testing question within a time period specified by Sponsor, as a condition to claim a prize.

I have seen this in several other contest/sweeps. What are these questions pertaining to?

most that I have seen are simple math questions. dont understand either. maybe one of the canadian sweepers will let us know.

it had to do with sweeps most Canadians look @ sweeps as lotteries and in order to make it no so they have to have some kind of thing like the skill tests to make it not

So basically they turn it into a contest. Like if you answer this correctly YOU WIN. Wonder what happens if they answered wrong. I bet they are REALLY easy questions.

"What's 1+1?"
"2"
"Congratulations, you are a winner"

well it is more like you have to get the question right in order to be entered as part of the contest
