What influenced you to start sweeping?

It really started for me when I saw this lady from Texas on the
Oprah Show. This show aired at the end of 2004. She won a car, boat, 1 million dollars, and alot of
other prizes, and said she "sweeped as her job". She also joked with Oprah saying to her " I pay as much in taxes as you do"! She entered
most of her sweeps back then using snail mail. She really inspired
me to start sweeping.

I didn't want to use the mail to sweep, and that's when I found SA...

I think I was surfing the internet and on my home page it said something like "entertainment" on AOL. I clicked on it and a bunch of Lotto and Sweepstakes stuff came up. I looked into the world of sweepstakes and fell

I was looking for a way to make extra money. Found the sweepstakes sites and said hmmmm. I will give it a try. I am so glad I did. Thanks to SA I have made extra money. more in fact than I did at my last part time job :smt003 I am hooked. I love doing this. I dont really think of it as a hobby anymore. Its sorta like a job. I get money, and gifts for bdays and xmas. But its a job I love.

I STARTED THIS JUST TO SEE IF I HAD ANY LUCK. I'M A STAY AT HOME WIFE AND MOTHER OF 3 SO I GET BORED SOMETIMES. I AM SO GLAD THAT I FOUND THIS SITE. I'VE WON TOYS, LOTS OF DVDS, AN IPOD, SONGDOWN LOADS. I AM YET TO WIN THE BIG THINGS LIKE TRIPS, CASH, OR TVS. BY FINDING THIS SITE, IT MAKES ME HAPPY TO CHECK THE MAIL :smt001
 
I really just found this website on a fluke. I was doing a google search for something else and a sweeps site came up and I clicked on it.....the rest is history - LOL!

I am addicted now to online sweeps!

I used to on occasion mail in a sweeps entry I would find at the grocery or in a magazine or enter in a store drop box, but that was the extent of my sweeping til finding SA.
 
I actually was entered into a contest by my cable company and won the grand prize. It was a laptop and $600.00. I was really excited, so I started seeking out sweeps to enter and found a few sweeps sites, tried them out and then won some great prizes. I became more obsessed every time my husband would say, "Nobody ever wins those". Now, guess who is enjoying the plasma tv, the gift cards, the xbox, and who will be enjoying the airline tickets, once we can agree on where we are going.

I love the little surprises that come.
 
I did TONS of snails in the 80's, and only won a few small prizes. Then I was watching Showtime, and the L WORD sweeps ad came on, and that reminded me of sweeping, so I searched and found some sites.

I landed elsewhere for almost 2 years, and found that I was MUCH luckier at online sweeps than I ever was doind all those 3 x 5's!!!

3 1/2 years later, I'm typing this on the laptop I won, and loving evey minute of this hobby!!!
 
I started doing Womens day and Redbook sweeps because I got their magazines. I only won one thing from them. Thne I started looking at other sweeps and landed here. My first year, I won lots every month but this year, just a few nice things. I am tired of t-shirts, key chains, hats, packs of gum and candy. So I have cut out the sweeps that only offer those type of prizes. It is still a fun hobby though. Good luck all.
 
I was bored one day, and searched the web for contests, I found one sweepstakes place, so for a couple of days i used that to find the contest, I continued to look for other sites, thank god I found sa. I love it. All the people are so nice, and they are so organized with thier contests, it confuses me why companies would give so much stuff away for free, but hey as long as they continue to do it, I will continue to try to win. My family thinks I am nuts, but when I won a $3,000 trip, they new it was for real. I am just waiting for that big prize, a big tv or car or something, that I can show them, then I think they will get off my back, lol. I have been trying to get my sis to do this. she tries for a couple of days then gets bored.

I started back in 2002 trying to win a trip to Disney World, that's all I ever entered for, never went looking for them either, just if I saw them in a magazine or on a product or through the Disney website. One day I noticed a sweepstakes on a package of Quilted Northern toilet tissue, entered that one online every day and got my first (and so far only) surprise win in the mail from it. It was a $100 gift card to Bed, Bath & Beyond. I was so excited, from then on I was hooked!! Started looking online and entering others, and found this great site and have really enjoyed it here!! Still haven't won that trip to Disney World....YET, but I'm having fun trying!
 
I won a turn key for a new Mustang in 1985 by keeping my two hands on it for 28.7 hours. I kept that car for 11 years!

After that, I always entered stuff whenever I found it. Then one day in 2002, some lady I chatted with online told me about zaptastic. I looked into it, but wasn't interested, really. Then I stumbled over a few sites, and TinyMoMo (my son) was born, so I was home more.
His nickname is my user name.
 
Just a few months ago I was on my poker forum and one of the ladyz was talking about how she had won a disneyworld trip by entering sweeps online and gave the link for a sweepstakes site it wasnt this one but I then did a google search for more sweepstakes sites and found this one and now I am hooked...so far all of my luck has been on the instant win sweeps and have won quite a few small prizes and a diamond from obovo, I am just waiting to win a trip or something else big :)
 
When I first got internet in the late '90's, I quickly discovered freebies and amazing coupons. Then the great finds became fewer and fewer. People at the freebie forum I frequented began talking about instant wins, so I started entering them occasionally. I won a few and I was hooked!
 
I have been entering some sort of contest clear back when we had a Newbury's. I have always been a gambler, entered contests and am looking for an easy way to get rich and happy. I really got active through internet searching but this site got me really taught on how to sweep and win. I am back now that I am relaxing and not stressing. Bills are not paid but I am stress free, lol.
 
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A SWEEPSTAKE JUNKY. I ENTERED WITH SNAIL MAIL ABOUT 50 A DAY. I SPENT WAY TO MUCH MONEY WITH STAMPS, ENVELOPES AND 3 X 5 CARD AND NEVER WON MUCH. I STOPPED SWEEPING BECAUSE OF THE MONEY AND HAVING KIDS. BUT I FOUND SA AWHILE BACK I DIDN'T GET SERIOUS UNTILL THIS YEAR. I HAVE WON SO MUCH STUFF MY KIDS LOVE IT. THEY BOTH RUN TO THE MAIL BOX TO SEE WHAT HAS COME IN. I'M WAITING FOR THE BIG WIN BUT I GOT MY FIRST AFFY TODAY AND I'M EXCITED!!!!! THANK SA :wave:
 
I started sweeping back in 1982 as a newlywed. I won a few things but I too spent to much money on stamps a sweepstakes newsletter subscriptions and after several months gave up. Over the years entered here and there, won a few smaller things. But then came along the internet :headbang:
Met mechurchlady :sunny: and made a few other sweeping friends :thewave: and have had some nice to great wins. But what really influenced me to start sweeping? The high you get from winning especially from products you use all the time. Winning something you don't have the extra money for, or winning even a 5 or ten dollar gc.

I got excited over winning a pack of gum then membership to a download site. It is that 50+ pound box that is a tower of cardboard that obviously has been dropped kicked to your front step. Oooh what is it, uh, applesauce. Then there is the melted chocolates that make you wonder if they did not microwave the package.

It is the opening the mailbox to find salmonella. It was a stuffed toy. Giving gifts to people and your mission or church.

It is also the friends you make.
I missed you Dee so much.
 
I am determined to win a vacation somewhere! I've only been doing this for a couple of months. So far, nothing...but I have faith! :)
 
The only whole trip I won was through a radio station. You have greater odds at local radio and television sites as well as local sites such as jambase, newspapers and sites dedicated to one area such as Atlanta Magazine.
