What Gets Your Goat?

Okay, another thing I saw yesterday on CNN...that brand new, $59 million dollar jail facility in Portland, OR -- built two years ago and is still not being used. At all!! The lights work, the landscaping is being maintained, the furniture is all in place...but nobody is there...no prisoners, no staff members, no security guards.

OMG! :cussing: This gets my goat! A completely new, modern, state-of-the-art jail facility (which is needed in Portland) -- sits unused. While the taxpayer picks up the tab for maintaining the empty facility and property grounds. What a waste of money...grrr!

My Dad was a corrections officer for many years. He told me quite a few stories that would make anyone sick. You'd be surprised how many rights the inmates have and how well they are treated. One of them being, I can barely afford healthcare but some of these inmates would get all kinds of specialized FREE health treatments if they complained. Makes you sick. :crazytongue:

Some wooden fence posts that I removed were put out front for the sanitation, but they didn't take it. So the wood was sawed in pieces, put into barrels and put out front again for the regular pick-up. They didn't take it. It was put outside for the vegetation recycling day. They didn't take it. So the town was notified that a bunch of wood needs the special large item pick up truck. The town says it's left over from a construction project, and the contractor has to take it away. There was no contractor involved, it's just a bunch of wood I removed.

ARRRRRRRGGGG!!!

I have another one of these sitting in my backyard. Ridiculous isn't it. The Sheriff says he doesn't have the budget to staff it. SOOOOO WHY BUILD IT IN THE FIRST PLACE? :cussing:

Okay ~ I am a goat  I ran a stoplight the other day, why you might ask???? Cellphone? Nope! Eating soup? Nope! Putting on my make-up? Nope!!! Because my two kids, 13 & 9, were fighting like cats and dogs!!!! This week one turns 10 and next week the other will be 14! I was just lucky that this is a small town where there isn't much traffic :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

In some ways I am so ready for school to start to put an end to all of this fussing! I told them both today that I will ground them from the things that they love the most if they don't stop! Cellphone and computer for the oldest and Littlest Pet Shop toys for the youngest!! I just wish I could have a couple of quiet, peaceful days before they go back to school ~ but I am dreaming!!

Yes, my children get my goat!!!

Im glad yall werent hurt. Sounds like my house. mine are 11,10 and 5. They fight alllll the time. Im counting the days till school starts. It gets so old listening to the same fight over and over again. Last night my two oldest would not stop being hateful to each other, name calling and such, so I made them sit on the couch and hug each other.

They were so mad. They havent fought today. I told em you fight, you hug!!!!.

Ahhhhhhhhh, the lovely sound of bickering children. Mine are both girls and they are 11 and 14. But in girl years I guess thats - 21 and 24 (must be because they know everything.) So, to make the story short we tried to go the The Mall of America for a short vacation. Didn't make it on the flight (flying standby) so we decide lets make the most of it. Since we are stuck in Atlanta, lets do the aquarium, Coke Sweepstakes tour, CNN tour (I'm a news junkie) and lots of cool places to eat. After three days of "how much further do we have to walk" and "She's touching me", I truly in the deepest deepest depths of my heart; understand why wild animals eat their young. Oh dear lord, I'm so glad to be home. I would have give my brothers right arm for a valium and a glass of wine!!!!!!!!!!!!

lmao that hugging thing works but here a repeat problem gets hug and kiss its almost the biggest threat I can use "Are you fighting AGAIN you know what that means" and poof kids are super quiet lmao Its just uncool for a 9 yo boy to kiss I guess

kill the hate with love even if they hate doing it lol

what gets my goat are video game developers who make me sit thru cutscenes. Give me the option to watch or bypass. I hate that!!! If im playing a rpg fine. those are so story based anyway. If im playing a shooter I dont want to watch the stupid cutscene. Just let me play the game!!!!!
