We gave up on Ebay altogether. The one time, someone hacked our account through Ebay's own site. When your account gets hacked, Ebay wants you to use a new email address. Everyone else just wants you to change your password. I'm not going to keep getting new emails everytime our account gets hacked!! :cussing:
As for watching my pocketbook, I have a different outlook on that. I feel that when someone makes it obvious they are trying to "overprotect" their pocketbook that that's what would peak the interest of a would-be thief. It makes it look like there is something of value in there that you're trying to protect it so much, and it would be those pocketbooks that they would be more apt to try and steal. I never bothered doing that. It makes it look more like there's nothing of value to even bother taking since I'm not worried about it.

Yea last christmas was sad, my mom went to buy a christmas tree, and someone pick pocketed her wallet, When she went to pay for the tree she realized she didn't have her wallet. She had saw some teenage girls by her, and thinks thats who did it. Well One of the onlookers said they saw the girls go over and get on the bus. Well when they went to the busstop. In the trashcan next to it, was my moms wallet, with all her ids, etc, except for the money. Luckily it was only $200 that they stole. My parents aren't rich, but they are "comfatable" so the $200 didn't kill em. Where if it was me, or my sister, are familys are teatering on poor, so that would have devestated us.
So be careful, especially at stores, etc, when people are real close to you.

It is easy to find true people that are in need at Christmas time. I alway try to help someone. It might not be much~ but I try to help a little. This year I am going to help my daughter's teacher buy gifts for all of the kids in her room and then we are going to buy "gifts" for the humane society instead. There are so many years that the kids that do not have much money are not able to buy a lot and that doesn't bother me when a child that has more gets that gift, but when you have a kid that doesn't have much to begin with then they don't get much it kills me!! So we are going to try it a different way this year and see how it goes!
As for the thieves ~ I don't even carry a purse anymore. Let them try to get my money or card off of me ~ I dare them! I am so super careful when we shopping, but I will leave my doors unlocked at home! I am gonna have to do better now! I guess that Jimmie is so spooked by everything and I am gonna prove that nothing is out there to get us! But I know that isn't true either. I got taken by a guy on eBay about 6 months ago and Paypal got my money back for me, it took almost 2 months, but they got my $300.00 back for me! It was a pain, but make sure and document EVERYTHING!

Muggers especially like to target tourists. So, for God's sake, if your planning on visiting a city like New York City, stop walking around and making it obvious that you're from out of town. Stop looking up at everything, stare blankly down or ahead of you, and wear sneakers (even to the shows, changing into heels in the bathroom). It's unbelievable how many tourists get mugged especially this time of year. Most tourists are so obvious they might as well have "tourist" stamped on their forehead!! :crazytongue:

Respond only to messages sent via ebay messages (ie within the website). It's against Ebay policy to say someone is the second place bidder and wins because the other person backed out. The only way you should be giving $ to a seller is if the auction has closed and the page says you are the winner.
