But Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, has come up with something big in an effort to attract customers. The retailer is holding a special in-store sale normally only seen the day after Thanksgiving.

The sale starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, and Wal-Mart is hopeful it will boost revenue figures.

Shoppers can purchase a Compaq laptop computer for $298, a 46-inch flat screen television for $798 or a Sony MP3 player for $50.

I wonder if it will be as crazy as the black friday's are?.. I may check it out though. anyone do the black friday sales?

I do, but only online ~ that isn't a bad price for a laptop though...I wish I knew that the technology would still be good in a few years and I might try to get one for Caitlyn for college ~ I sure wouldn't want to try to update myself though ~ not after 'ashelyn gate 2008'

Tammy, typically the computers sold at these prices have lesser processors in them. They will not have the speed or memory of the better models. Also, it will probably be very outdated in 2 years, for her needs.

That said, I bought my husband a lesser laptop than mine last year. He just surfs the internet for whatever guys surf the net for. I'll never use it, but it's fine for him. Mine would kick his computer's butt (if it had one!), but I use it for work. Heck, my back-up would put his to shame. He knows better than to touch my notebooks thought! :fired: I bet you thought I only protected my Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways stash! :nono:

I knew eventually you would come out of the woodwork again  You do know that they will probably have chocolate on sale...but just here in Kentucky, didn't you :crazytongue:

Yeah, I don't like the girls touching this computer either, but considering that it is the only one in the house I didn't have much of a choice...thus the virus...thus the computer meltdown! One of these days I'm getting me one to hide in my secret room...maybe they will take me out of the straight jacket long enough to let me use it every now and again

I'm never far away! Just way too much on the plate the last two months.

You should take advantage of the laptop deal for yourself! You deserve it.

Oh, you misread the ad. The sales for chocolate are for everywhere EXCEPT Kentucky Island!

Im thinking about getting the laptop. Id like to get one for the kids. That way they can keep the garbage they download on theirs.
