URGENT QUESTION

has anyone here won anything from espn. i got an email sat with the subject line ESPN AWARD (open attarch file) Urgently that's all it said, no congrats or any other message, it also has an attachment to open. haven't opened it because it just doesn't look right. i do enter espn sweeps but have never anything. can anyone help

I get a lot of various emails like that - where they want you to open an attachment to find out if or what you supposedly won. I NEVER open ANY of them. I don't think I'm missing a win so much as avoiding a scam. I get those emails EVERY day. I can't be winning that many sweeps. Oh, I haven't received any from ESPN though. Just my point of view.
 
I agree with damnyankee2.

I just Google searched "espn award scam" and lots of stuff came up.

All caps and an attachment look very suspicious.
 
UPDATE called espn they said all emails would be from espn.com----not sombody's name

:sunny: It's a scam. I have won from them. They emailed me to tell me about the win, then sent the affy by Fedex.
 
REAL wins are very direct in telling you that you have won. They usually say Congratulations or you won....no games. No attachments unless the note says you won and they attach a form to sign or a link to go to put your info in....that is my experience, anyway....
