UNWANTED MAGAZINES

:cussing: :cussing: Is anyone else getting unwanted bill's from mazazines they did not subscribe to?? I had a whole mail box full today and the site are down so I can't go online and unsubscribe to magazines I never subscribed to anyway. :cussing:

Happens to me all the time. I just call go on line or call the 800 number. Usually end up with a couple of free issues. If you're using auto fill of any sort you may wish to double check and make sure you're not opting in by mistake, all those checkboxes can sometimes lead to errors (at least with me, I don't see very good :crazytongue:)
Over time I've minimized my accidental subscriptions but they still slip through.
Hope it does not take you too long to get them all sorted after Christmas.

Just write "CANCEL" on the bill and send it back. As careful as we would like to think we are, we all accidentally subscribe to magazines from time to time without realizing it. The magazine companies don't go out of their way to send out subscriptions just for the heck of it. That would be a very costly endeavor for them with all the "free" magazines in the end.

I get them all the time, I usually mark "refused" or "didn't order, cancel" on them and return to sender or just toss them in the trash. I have made calls and sent emails and never helped.

LIdarkside...I entered a Popular Mechanics, Red Book & Cosmopolitan sweepstakes and I was ridiculously careful unchecking any option boxes that said "yes! I would like to order 12months of so and so magazines for only said price"

I got 3 invoices in the mail I put "cancel" on all three and still yesterday in the mail I got 3 more individual invoices from them saying I ordered from them when I clearly didn't and that I just entered their sweepstakes and let them know I even unchecked option that mentioned any chance of me accidentally ordering a subscription from them. Yeah its a massive annoyance but when there's no phone number on these invoices to call and let these magazine companies know that your not interested then I get a lil peeved :nono:. But other than that I keep sending it back "cancel".

People were adament that they didn't order this book from Reader's Digest until I posted the link to the subscription form (elsewhere) and then realizing that the subscription form was inadvertantly filled out, because it actually looked like the entry form. Not all subscriptions are from just a "yes" or "no" checkoff. Many can actually look like entry forms. I'm very careful, but I have finally caught how I was doing it occasionally. When I'd pull up a passcard from Roboform and leave the computer, I come back to see that the form didn't get filled out and submitted. So, I'd do a "fill and submit". Then the next day while staying on the computer, I'd see the form come up after the entry form went through and realized what I had done. I truly don't believe they are going to send out subscriptions without an acceptance. This is costly and not very business-wise. We're only human. Then there are people with vendettas that fill these forms in other people's names they're trying to harrass.
