I won the First place prize in the instant win game, they are only giving away one! It's an outdoor lawn group, awarded as a $600 gift card to Lowes!! They sent me an affy but for some reason it wont print on my computer  . I have a question for the experienced sweepers here, How much of it am i going to pay back at the end of the year? Either way im excited and im hoping i can get it to print so the hubby can fill his garage. Thanks SA and Troybilt and lowes too! Good luck everyone!!

Congratulations. What a great prize. You will pay taxes on the award as if it was income. However, if you shop at Lowes, it will be worth paying the taxes. You will be sent a 1099 Misc statement at the end of the year; the winnings will be reported to the IRS.

Congrats on your win! Taxes depend on your tax bracket. $600 prize and they will send a 1099 as required by IRS. If you are in a 15% bracket on your federal tax and your state tax is 5.3% (as it is for me in Mass.) it would be 20.3%, it depends on your income and the state you reside in. If you have questions, please feel free to send me a message. I would accept the prize since it is a small amount and should have little bearing on your tax returns for the year 2010.

Congratulations - what a great win! We are retired and don't have a lot of "taxable" income. Our accountant tells us to figure around 15% for taxes.
