I was notified two weeks ago that I won a 4 day cruise on the new Disney Dream: cruise, airfare, tips and transportation to port for 4 from My
Coke Sweepstakes Rewards, valued at $4,800. I had entered (and used) all my rewards points on this one but was still very excited and surprised to get notified of the win.
Here's the rub, though:
Has anyone ever won a travel package from MCR before that can give me some insight on how things work?
I was notified quickly--the day of the drawing--and paperwork was notarized and approved right away. However, they now say it will be 4-6 WEEKS before anyone contacts me about actually booking the trip. It's a new ship so the ship is completely full--in fact, for the room category I won, there isn't a room available til 1/15/2012! I have to take the trip by 3/2012, book 45 days in advance, there are LOTS of blackout dates AND work around school schedules. I would gladly pay for an upgrade to a different category of room but that boat is full! Rooms pop up periodically but if don't hear from anybody for another month or so, getting on that ship while school is out is gonna be impossible. I've called and emailed Coke with my concerns but they give an automated response--4-6 weeks.
I just don't understand the lag time so I was wondering if any one else had experienced this and also curious is there are some rooms set aside for cases like this, for promotions, that don't show up to the general population in availability.
Can anybody give me any insight?
