OMG! So happy for you! Greece! Been there 3 times! My favorite place on the earth! Read up on Greek Mythology before you go! That way you will understand! It's a wonderful place. Athens! Be sure you dine at Greek Restaurants and enjoy Greek Cuisine and the Belly Dancers! Don't go to McDonalds! They actually have it, but Greeks don't know how to make a burger, and you will be seriously disappointed!
You will have an awesome time. They do take siesta's (naps), so night life is good, but afternoons are sleepy, and if you have access to cash, like $1000 in $100 bills, and stick a few $1.00's, and $20.00's in there so you have a BIG stack, you can get amazing deals on jewelery. Put the hundred dollar bills on top, and stop flipping at 5 (they will assume the rest of the stack is all $100 dollar bills. They bargain. You take out this wad of cash, hem and haw... need to think... THEY don't want to let you go! They will now provide Ouzo Screwdrivers for you to drink while you think. The bargaining person should not drink. But the other one can drink the screwdriver, try on furs, jewels, model.... OH MY, and those OUZO Screwdrivers flow!! We bought me a 24 Kt gold Greek heavy necklace and bracelet for about $600 US. I wear it every day and I always will. It was priced at $2000, but flash the cash, threaten to leave, watch them sweat............. It's all good! If you can, go to Delphi, Mykonos, Santorini, and when you read the Mythology, you will know where you want to go.
Oh, and put your cash in a front pocket of your jeans, or a fanny pack in front. We don't want anyone stealing your cash!! Or your passport!!
