first I tried to down load sweeps advantage and it would go on mycomputer
so I did robofill
all I wanted was something simple - that would take one minute to fill out and get going with
the techniical stuff filled a long page but nothing about what I wanted'
the people who design computer stuff are way off base with the common folk
then It wouldnt let me fill in my address manuallly since it wouldnt do so
I removed it from my computer and I want to thank you for the half an hour wasted

I only use the google toolbar auto fill. It works fine for me. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that you had such a frustrating experience. For what it's worth, I'm not the most technically adroit person either. I use Roboform (the free version) and have found it fairly easy to work with. It does take me a while to download things though since I use dial up, and I like to read everything to make sure I'm not agreeing to a service I don't want. If you decide to try again later, please don't hesitate to ask questions if you need tech help. Many of our SA members are very good with this sort of thing and will be able to pass along suggestions if you need them. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving!

surely you jest? all I saw was a really long page of technical stuff
I must be at the stone age level computer wise

Gringo, go to Roboform.com and hit the download button. Once you have it downloaded, you can load your personal info and then it is a one click fill in the form dream come true.

Good luck.

I had a problem with my auto fill. My ISP is sbcglobal. If I log in thru there I cant get the auto fill. If I log on thru internet exp. I get the google toolbar with the autofill. also, The autofill doesnt work on everything it will leave some things blank for you to fill. maybe try going to a different contest and see it it lights up. Sometimes when it doesnt light up I refresh and that works. sorry if this is rambling. i hope it works for you it is a real time saver. good luck.

gringogirl333 - sounds like a conflict. Could be your firewall, your ISP (like 3mnkids1 pointed out) or your antivirus.

OR - it could be your comp is too old? They make progs to work with the latest & greatest - few are backwards compatible.

Whithout specifics (OS, ISP, which progs you tried and what exactly was wrong) it's difficult to answer.

Everybody may know the answer to this but me but I have an autofill thing on here (probably from my browser or server) and it works pretty good but it has a bunch of junk on there that I don't need or want. Can someone tell me how to clear everything out except just the info I need on there? It even has old email addys and last names, etc from way back. Irritates me to wade through all that to get to the one I want.
Thanks bunches.

texassunshine58 - you'll have to give more info - BUT - your best bet is to go to their site if right clicking doesn't bring up any menu or anything.

texassunshine58 oh good - I've only ever used robo and for a short time, the Google toolbar - I wasn't sure I could help!!!

If you have any problems with or questions about robo, check out this thread:

You can post in this thread, or that thread, or - the best option - start your own thread, so you can easily track and refer to it 8)

It sounds like you are using the auto complete in IE which is what I use because I always get adware and popups from dloading formfillers. If so to get rid of those entries you have to use the down arrow and delete or go into control panel, internet properties, content and my profile to edit or delete all the info. Hope it helps.

iam giving google an F. sometimes it works but mostly it doesnt.
yes i have an old computer so if you see any valid sweeps for computers let me know!
next I do have an excellent over protective firewall bitdender and spysweeper and I like it that they dont approve of many things.
they wouldnt even let me go to this site!
however I lost one computer when I first came here two years ago and did sweeps without a firewall

well, this reply isn't really about autofill.
I'm a fairly fast typist and did data-entry for years so I have no problem entering myself. (except for the ones that don't conform to standard forms, grr)
I'm not putting down those who use auto ones, great tool if it works.

however to add to this list of fustrations regarding downloads.
Just about the time I figure something out, I get a message that I need to download a new version.
recently had to download a new version of adobe reader. It loaded Adobe Photoshop also, have no idea how to use or how to get my pictures back to whatever I had before. Gee, could they not have given me the option if I wanted it or not? I just need it primarily to open pdf files.

:smt013 my vent for the day.

Roboform Pro (paid version) is the only way to go. I stopped using "autofill" years ago--it can't compete, not even close. They have a free version of Roboform, but it very limited on what it does and how many passcards you can save. I have 1,000+ passcards saved at any one time, so this program is a God-send when it comes to sweeping. On most entry forms, Roboform Pro goes to the webpage, fills in the form as it was saved, and submits it on it's own in 2 to 4 seconds.
