The world

I say go for the over weight deal. I kind of think he is a nice looking young man, but two heads might be a bit to much. But unfortunately getting him to gain weight will be tough, at least for a few more years. He is just like I was, eat anything and everything and never gain a pound. You really can't tell in his pic, but he is 6'10" and weights about 140 to 160. So he is skinny. Is there such a thing as underweight?? Maybe lots of Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways will make him gain. Otherwise he will have to wait until he gets in his late 30s, then just look at food and you get fat. Lets go for the fattening up

Wow he's tall. :)

Yes I mean 6 foot and 10 inches, He is very tall and very skinney, He does'nt even like basketball. lol He likes track sortof, but never was much on sports, does play bango and mandalin, in 2004 he took first in the state of IL for bluegrass playing and singing, He is very good if I do say so myself. He also builds the bangos and mandalins, but his fav. thing when he is home now, (other then wife and kids) is to make his truck bigger, tougher, more power. ect. ect. HIm and dad are always trying to outdo each other on it. Well if we can't fatten him up, and I really don't like the two heads idea, maybe we have to wait, but any other great ideas??? And the worst part is if I know him, he will probably reup again because he does love helping and being the good guy. Making mom have more gray hair. ahhhh

Oh man that old world hit me pretty hard today. We get word that one of the solders lost his hand, no detail, just that his hand was blown off and not sure if he will be ok or not . I can't begin to describe the emotions that go thru you when you hear this type of thing. Part of me just wants to crawl in a cave and hide, part of me wants to scream and yell and blame someone for all this sjaldm.
Finally my boy called me because he knew if I heard I would be worried, and it wasn't him. It is a very sad deal, the boy will be alive, but lost his hand and possibly his arm, I can't go into detail to much here as to how, because it was not combat injury, the service all seem to want to hush up the real things that happen over there. It really makes me wonder what other things our great country figures we are to dumb to hear, I understand they can't tell people their plans and such as the bad guys would hear it also. But most people have no idea how far off the new media is on what is really happening at the time. I don't know if they don't really know or if it is all a cooperation. Well I am going to go and jam out in music land. I spend allot of time there, can sleep with no dreams. I don't know why but his service in Afghanistan is driving me nuts. When he was in Iraq I worried, but nothing like this. I have nightmares and my stomach has a knot in it about half the time. Just have to keep giving it to God, my mind knows this, but my heart still worries and holds on to it. thanks for letting me ramble again. this post is liable to get pretty long before he comes home. lol oh well I will sponser the party for everyone when he comes home. Any other outcome is something I can't deal with thinking about right now, so just plan on attending one heck of a party in march 2010.

Tobby, you can only deal with this one day at a time. Don't even let your mind wander into thinking the worst. Pray for his safety and speedy return home to his loved ones. Everyday that goes by brings him one day closer to coming home. Think about that.

I can't imagine what you were thinking when you heard that news. I bet you are relieved that he has a way to contact you and tell you he is ok.

Hang in there. Soon, tomorrow will be here and that is one day closer to your being reunited with him. :)

OK, when the boy comes home I am going to kill him. They won't have to worry about him getting hurt there, mom is going to do it for them. His wife called me today, and gave me the news, He signed up for another 3 years and at least 2 more tours. AAGGGGGGGGGGG I can't believe it. Yes I am very proud of him and he is a good boy and I know it will make a great retirement, but gosh he has to get to be old enough to retire, and the worst part he kept telling us if he signed up for anymore time, he would go into different field, well he went into a even worst then he is in now. He was what they call a bomb rat, and infantry, He would find bombs and explode them, and they would go on missions and go in the caves and towns and find the bad guys. Well when he left on this tour I asked him what he was going to be doing, and he said I can't tell you, not allowed. I thought that was strange because before he could tell some, just not allot of details, which I understand, Well now he has signed on special services and is doing some very scary things,. I swear I am going to string the boy up. Yes I am proud and his rank keeps going up because he volunteers for all this junk, but I am his mom and I don't even want to hear that kind of stuff. sorry for all the whining, but I can't talk to him about this, just tell him how proud I am, I don't want him worried about mom. Thank you to all my SA Friends for being there for me to whine to and talk to. If I talk to dh he really worries about me being ok, which I am ok, just really scared to death and not sure how to deal with all this. I know one day at a time, but man this is deep.

When he comes home on his next leave, call me. I'd be happy to send out some people to break his legs! :headbang: Oh Tobby! I pray these conflicts will be over before long and we will return to peace time so that he doesn't have to be in danger again.

Thinking of you! :)

Oh tobbymac that young man sounds like a very proud soldier. I am sure this is going to drive you crazy with worry no doubt. I tell you our children make us go grey sooner than we should. I will keep him and you in my prayers and then of course like wolfie let me know when he's home on leave and I can come over there and smack him for you.

OK guys the child got brave enough to call me himself. It is rather humorous that he faces unseen dangers and gets shot at daily, but is scared to call mommy if she might be upset. kids are a riot. Of coarse mom just told him how proud I am of him and what a brave wonderful solder he is, All though I did mention he really did not need to change his mission. But found out he is probably maybe, might, come home for a visit in April. Guess he figured if he had good news also I would take it easy on him. So here is the plan, I will act so happy, and lure the brat home, get him to come over then break his scrawny little legs. If that doesn't keep him down, we will throw him in the basement and lock the door. I am sure his wife will be glad to help. She is the same boat, very proud, but worried to death. thanks guys, you know you have good friends when they will help you injure your loved ones.

Oh tobby, my friend, so sorry your dreams for your son are not his. I guess you can at least be thankful that he is doing something he likes and he does have a job. Maybe you should just dye all your hair grey for his return in April so he can see how mama worries. The thing is that we worry no matter what they are doing. We'll just keep praying that he remains safe and comes home alive and well to his family.
