I have some thoughts and questions on thanking sponsors.

I slacked off because I haven't been winning much :) but also because sometimes I'm not sure how to address the thank yous so that they end up in the right place and I am not wasting my time. Occasionally, I have received nice replies from sponsors.

Do you address your thank you to the sponsor directly, or, since the prize and cover letter often come from the company that manages the sweeps, do you address it to the sponsor c/o that company?

For example, what do you recommend:

I received a NEAT Receipts Scanalizer (portable scanner) from the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks Spring '08 Miles To Go Sweepstakes and instant win Game, via ePrize. I looked up the address for NWA from the rules (in expired sweeps) but I feel like they are so big, and I don't have a specific department to address. On the other hand, if I just write to ePrize (also big) NWA may never know. I could write to NWA with a copy to ePrize, but then I would send a typed letter, instead of the old-fashioned hand-written thank you.

So what do you do/recommend for this and similar large sweeps?

And why are there delete, lock and move post symbols in the right margin next to my post? Mystery!

I usually end up having a problem with fullfillment on my big(ger) prizes, so i end up with a contact person, and I thank them.

Since the Marketing Dept. $$$ goes to sweeps, maybe try that dept?

Does that mean that those symbols appear next to the all topics you initiate in General Sweepstakes Talk? Am I the only one that can see them for my topic? (And you see them for topics you start?) I never saw them before, so either they are a new feature, or I haven't been posting much lately.

How come no one else asked about this? (I feel really dumb :) :))
