Switched to Chrome from IE and seem to be getting DQ'd?

I was using IE for my browser and Roboform to fill forms but with Windows 8 I was having trouble. I started using Chrome and the SA site was doing much better but I haven't won anything since I changed. I have entered the Snickers IW 20 days in a row and never hit, that is really against the odds and I wonder if I am being disqualified. Are the cookies recognized the same or is my email address being recognized as a duplicate entry now? I am a tech dummy and don't know how these things work.

Is there any way to know if I am disqualified from a contest? I know they don't have to notify me, but if there is a problem I would like to know how to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated, and has anybody else had this kind of problem?

Thanks to all for help Jane

That's a good question. I started using chrome for some of my sweeps because IE was being uncooperative. But I have been told that the browser doesn't make a difference. I think that if it was making a difference you wouldn't notice it immediately. Because it might take 6 months to find out if you won something. Why don't you experiment and try entering the snickers one in IE the next few times. And if you win the next 5 times in a row I wouldn't care if anyone said it made a difference or not, I would find a way to keep using IE.

janemthome - Chrome is just a browser - a tool to surf with:

Google Chrome - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Chrome is the lightweight flagship browser that originated from an open-source project by Google called Chromium and Chromium OS. It is now one of the more widely-used browsers thanks to a vast ecosystem of extensions and add-ons, a robust Javascript engine, and a rapid-release development cycle that keeps it on the competitive end of the curve.

If you haven't been winning it's your timing {IW} and the luck of the draw. That's what matters in sweeps;

I use chrome all the time and I have won Snickers the max (5 times) in about 10 days. Sorry, it's not the browser; sounds like just a dry spell. :(

I am not saying that Chrome won't work fine if that is all you use, but mixing entries between IE and Chrome seems to generate 2 sets of cookies that don't recognize your computer the same way. The math on this contest is just an indicator that there is a problem. We all know that the contests are screened for multiple entry attempts etc. but nobody really seems to know how it works or how the DQs are managed. I think a lot of honest people come here for information and this could save a lot wasted time and frustration if we understood it better.

AFAIK, sponsors screen by email addy/home address. Screening by IP perhaps, for 1xphh promos. But because we use multiple browsers? I can't even conceive why.

Right now, I am in a slump, I use IE and Firefox to enter {depending on the promo} and have for years, so I *know* my browser is NOT the issue - my timing is.

Now, if you are talking about promos that allow you to play *prior* to entering your info, then sure, I can see where you *might* get an edge by playing in different browsers, but then you'd also have to have different addys/home addresses too, so it's pointless.
