Re: Sweepstakes Convention
I was there. It's my first one, even though I've been sweeping for 20 years. Never heard of it until last year. We had several sessions, morning, afternoon, and dinner time. Some lasted past 9:30pm, I think. There were some speakers, but, it was mostly just giving away prizes! There was a banquet, a buffet at the baseball game, and a pancake breakfast. Prizes were given at every session. I won a Garmin GPS, a HP photo printer, 120 stamps, and some smaller things. There were a lot of giveaways to everyone, including a very nice and sturdy tote bag, a caribiner (sp?), a water bottle (use the caribiner to clip the bottle to the tote bag), a $30 board game, similar to Monopoly, but, with New England properties, 3 razors, men's body wash, pens, pencils, oh, gee, I can't remember what all I came home with. I had to UPS all the stuff home as my suitcase was full and I couldn't handle another box or suitcase with my carry-on and laptop. I received a nice little clock from Sweepstakes Advantage. I remembered it just now because it beeped!
I didn't stay at the hotel with the convention center. I stayed a 1/2 mile away at the Hilton. This hotel offered shuttle service at any hour to the convention. There was a school bus type shuttle that came by. I only saw it once. I believe it was the one supplied by the convention.
It's going to be in Minneapolis next year in September. The probable one for 2011 is going to be in Indiana. I'm sorry, but, I can't remember if she said South Bend or Ft. Wayne. There was so much going on that I couldn't get all the details.
It was well presented and, I think, a good quality event.
