I received an e-mail earlier this week letting me know I'd won a Masterbuilt Smoker from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. I gave to my Dad, an avid hunter with lots of meat in the freezer (Happy early Christmas gift Dad!!!), but also plan to use it myself. I'm looking forward to using it myself for smoking fish, brisket, chicken, turkey...and have been drooling while looking at recipes. I have a brother who's already told me he wants to use it...and I've told him he can...for a small portion of whatever food he smokes. :p I'm excited! This will definitely get a lot of use. :)

I've been entering contests for a long time and have won major prizes before...but I'm a bit shy. So...this is the first time I've ever posted a win on here. I want people who haven't won to know that people *DO* win...you simply have to put the work in and enter. :)

So glad you posted !! I love to read where a prize is won by someone who will truly use and enjoy it !! Hope you and your Dad have many enjoyable meals from the smoker !!
 
My Mom suggested selling it, because I'm returning to college and could use the money instead. I was like, "Mom! Do you know how much Smoked Fish costs???" LOL! I love smoked fish, but rarely eat it because it's so expensive. This will pay for itself in the amount of smoked fish I plan to eat. I'll likely eat so much fish I may well become one! ;)

I try to only enter contests where I will use the prize. Right now I'm making an exception to the rule because I am trying to return to college...my final semester will cost $10K including books. I was supposed to return in 2014, but got sick...and am only now just planning to return. Five classes and I'll finally have my degree! :) If I could win enough to pay for the rest of my classes...that would be awesome! :)

me too i am the same way i still have a Student Loan from 4 years ago, and whenever i win cash doing sweepstakes it goes to the student loan right away. By the way, i am also helping out my folks back at my home country, Philippines. So, it's really rewarding doing this!
