i got an email stating i won a prize from sheknows, but it doesnt have what it is listed...

im excited to see what is it!

but one weird thing is that it asks for my social security number. im a newbee and only won something small before, so im wondering if thats pretty normal for the paperwork in order to receive your prize???

Hmm. I won from SheKnows (my first win) & never even got an email, just showed up in my mailbox. That was 6 months ago & they could have changed things in the mean time. Still, before filling in your personal info & zipping it back, I'd make sure it was a valid email adress connected to SheKnows. But then, I'm crazy-paranoid at this point!
:crazytongue:

(And I've seen people on here who have had to give a SS# for a, I think, t-shirt win.)

I would not give out my ss# without confirming what I have won! A 1099 will be issued if legit! Tax issues could arise. Also, keep in mind it could be a scam to get your ss#. Most wins require a notary to confirm your detailed info!

 I got a winning e-mail from them a couple of weeks ago. The prize name was buried in the
middle of it (I had to read it twice to catch it). The value was around $90 and they requested my
driver's license copy and SS#. I did make a copy of my license and wrote the last 4 #'s of my soc.
with the notation "not applicable for prize amount." That was about a week ago, so I'm still waiting.
If I receive it I'll post it.

I won from them before and missed the prize mentioned in the body of the email, reread it more carefully. I sent my driver's license and noted the prize value did not require my SSN and they sent it.
