Hi,

Received an email this morning that I won $100. Amazon ecard that must be used today. The email was from Amazon Monday ERewards from [email protected].

I think I might have taken a survey but don't quite remember. I sent an email to Amazon but they still waiting for response from their security team. Since cards says must be redeemed today, don't want to waste to much time cause have to figure what I am going to get.

Thank you for your help.

I don't know - but one thing you can try is copying and pasting the text of the email (or a portion of it) and doing a Google search. If it is a fraudulent email, it will sometimes show up as having been reported by others.

It sounds odd that an Amazon ecard would have to be used today.

Thank you. I thought the same thing but thought I remembered entering a sweeps. I did finally click on the Redeem and it was a scam. It was another survey and if I entered and subscribed to something, then I would get the $100. card. I unsubscribed and deleted it.

Aw, hope you win a real GC soon.

If you haven't already been doing this, for your protection, instead of opening questionable emails, you can right click on the subject line, and you should get a list of options. Choose "View message source" and there is a lot of stuff, but you can see the sender and the text. Without opening the email, you can use that information to search if needed.

venice - Sorry it wasn't a win, but since this is a confirmed scam, I updated the title & moved it to this {Reported Scams} forum for info purposes.

arrtup3 gives good advice - I *never* open an email, I always check PROPERTIES - especially for the name brands!!!

Hi,

I usually always open suspicious emails through Properties, but the email itself looked as though it did come from Amazon and I pretty sure I remembered entering a sweeps for them so thought I had ended a dry spell. I just received another email from CVS with a similar subject so someone has me now their list now. I just put them one in to my Block List and will also run a full scan on my system, just in case.

I think I was lucky this time and it isn't a virus, just one of those fake surveys where they tell you it's a win if you subscribe to a magazine, sign-up for a credit card, or make a number of purchases.

Thank you again for all of your helpful suggestions and for adding this to the scam section of SA.
