The menu for your forums, they are tacky. You left it at the smf default colors. With that said I have taken liberties of making replacements. I couldn't complain about it unless I was willing to fix it myself. You don't have to use them but if you wish to they are yours free of charge.

Outcome

ftp over write them to /themes/default/images ..
zip file here

Thank you. Yes, the menu is the default colors from smf. I just swapped them out with yours.

That looks a lot better & your welcome. I'm rather good at modifying smf themes and graphics because I ran my own smf forum for a while.

??? Am I missing something here? Everything is still the same ugly pea-green soup color it's always been!

(I keep expecting Linda Blair to suddenly appear) :crazytongue: :crazytongue: :crazytongue:

Only the menu colors have changed. You must despise cash sweepstakes too with all those pea green prizes?

I'll keep that in mind when we upgrade to smf 2.0 at full release. Maybe we can work something out. This made my day, one less thing on the dev list. Thanks again.

Do you know if you want to model your forums more like the homepage when the RC goes full release?

Got bored and played around with that idea on my server with RC1

Yeah, that makes sense. Would be good to make it more seamless. Will probably have more integration too. I hope 2.0 has good security.

Pretty Cool! Can you attach the images so I can try this out? Thank you. :headbang:

OK, all set. I still see that white bar and don't know if its just me?

Thank you,

Yeah, zip file again. http://sweepstakes.comli.com/PostIcons.zip .. I included the old ones in a folder called old in case you decided to revert to the ones you have now. That bit of css corrects that white bar under the logo.

Nice CSS work. How about a matching favicon?

I'll make them but all decisions to use them are solely the admins.

I'm good with html, xhtml, and css. Also into php/mysql quite a bit but still learning, I can read it and modify it to my needs but I can't write my own advanced scripts 100% yet. I do design site graphics and banners but on a personal level. Haven't gone professional with it or anything.

All "pea green" jokes aside: the current set-up is a little ... well how can I say it? ... hmmmm ... gosh ... hmmm ... oh well I might as well commit myself ... hmmmm ... bad! :crazytongue:

It is extremely difficult to tell the difference between the "pea green" and the "grey" icons. I know I am one of the few "challenged" folk on this forum but what about a nice perky orange ... or a stunning magenta ... or even a nice shade of "2 hours before sunset" blue for the 'unread' topics?

Remember we need to be ADA compliant here! And this "special needs" guy has a real problem discerning between our topics now! (All my fault, of course) :crazytongue:

:crazytongue:

I have to agree with Loren on the green vs. the grey icons. I like the new upgrades but that one is a little hard to see if you have vision problems. Which I do.

I just went around my house and checked both lcd, crt monitor types and I don't really have a problem distinguishing the the colors. As a workaround you might adjust the monitor brightness down a little until the colors fold in. If you have sight issues that might be a good idea for any website as your probably not seeing color differences that are present.
