Roboform thread

I only use IE8, and I do believe people have a tendency to react, overreact, first before checking things out and such and getting all their chickens lined up first instead of flustered. I go by my personal knowledge and experience first, because there is too much misinformation out there and too many people who just like to complain about everything right off the bat. You can't get productive or useful information from such.

I've been using Version 7 since it came out and, personally, find it too technical and overkill for sweeping. I'm absolutely satisfied with Version 6, it performs quickly and productively, and satisfies everything I realistically need for sweeping. :)

I'm with sweepy on this - backwards compatible is key, and it won't be from what I gather - that spells doom for robo IMHO.

Despite the fact that you can upgrade from Roboform 6 to Roboform 7, they are not exactly the same program. Roboform 7 simply can support Roboform 6. However, Roboform 7 is a compilation of programs that were programs that sold separately for downloading. For example, I purchased Good Sync at one time. If I remember right, the program cost me about $30.00. It was one of several programs sold that was compatible to use with Roboform 6. It ended up really being useless to me in the end, but this is one of the programs that is now incorporated into Roboform 7. Each of these programs incorporated into Roboform 7 sell separately for a fee, and nothing I see as a necessity to sweeping.

"RoboForm 7 has many new upgrades over RoboForm 6 that normally would be separate products:

* Automatic Synchronization via RoboForm Everywhere account.
* Password management for Windows applications.
* Better User Interface (complete rewrite) and many more new features.
* New browsers supported: Chrome, Safari, Firefox 4.
* New operating systems supported: Mac OS, Linux."
* New mobile devices: iPhone, iPad, Android (coming soon).

I've had enough of using Roboform 7 as my primary form filler. I'm migrating today to Lastpass which is free. There will be a learning curve but I don't care, I'm mad because Roboform removed the ability to export logins and identities in the newest version in a format that can be imported into other programs. I attempted to download Roboform 6 specifically to get that ability back but the Firefox add-on to allow Roboform's toolbar to work is specifically disabled in either Firefox 5 or Firefox 6 (I tried both). The precipating reason for going to Lastpass today is because I'm sick and tired of having problems with Roboform correctly filling out form fields ever since the upgrade to Firefox 6 and Roboform 7.4.2. In my current testing Lastpass is correctly filling out HTML forms and I'm working through all of my saved sweepstakes sites to convert them over. The work will be worth it, I think.

If anyone has successfully been able to export and re-import Roboform logins and identities into Lastpass AFTER having had Roboforom 7.4.2 AND Firefox 6.0.1 installed, please let me know how you did it - thanks :cheers:

I was able to get my identities by migrating back to 6, which I think is the last supported version before they locked up everyone's data. I save my Roboform data in a Dropbox volume, which is accessible on all my computers and away from the rather shady Roboform company.

tex230962 asks if;

Does anyone use or know of a sweepstakes tracking program (a program that lets you track sweepstakes). I know you can use bookmarks in your browser but I am looking for a
stand-alone program. I am currently using Sweep V1.71 but it is no longer supported and you can't make backup of your data.
