Roboform thread

I came here to learn how to use roboform correctly. I thought I was in the beginning...I had done everything except "custom". I followed the instructions for filling out the "custom" part, but when I click to enter I get a message that says something like "oi overrides yahoo ID, etc etc" and to delete the custom stuff if I wanted normal fields to be filled :(
I ended up having to erase all the stuff in my custom ie: how did you hear about us...
because it wasn't working anyway. Any suggestions?
Thanks a million.

I don't know what you mean by "custom".

Once the form is filled out correctly, you just need to click on "Save", then name it, and then "Save".

I have problems getting Roboform to fill in the birth date form for the Wildfire apps used at Facebook and Twitter. It fills in the 3 field forms ok, but won't do anything with the forms that have fields for only month and year.

I tried making a custom fill option, but that filled only the month, and then it would no longer fill in the form with 3 fields so I had to delete it. This is an annoying problem.

Blame the person who made up the form for those particular sweepstakes. :cussing: The field for the dates was probably labeled in the background something other than month, day, and year or whatever they ask for. So, when Roboform gets to those fields it's named as something else in the background, doesn't recognize it, and skips over it. :error:

You're absolutely right, and I compared both forms but couldn't figure out what it is. I'm not very good at CSS.

I am getting popups from Roboform now saying my trial has ended and I need to buy Pro. I am already a pro user. Is anybody else seeing this?

Just go to Roboform.com, sign in, and reactivate Pro. I have had to do this several times after I've had work done on my computer.

I just tried this and got a message:

Note: You currently have RoboForm 7 installed, it does not accept v6 licenses.

"To activate your v6 license please install version 6 of RoboForm from this link. Once completed, please return to activate.

If you would like to continue using RoboForm 7, please upgrade your license. During the upgrade process, you will then be able to activate.

They're trying to force older version users to pay for it again.

No, that's not what is happening. I have had the same exact message. I updated to Roboform 7 while I was unknowlingly on the free Roboform version (Pro had gotten deleted). Roboform 7 is brand new. Roboform 6 was not an older version. It's the version that was current up to the past week or two. Roboform 7 just came out.

You have to first reinstall the latest version of Roboform 6, reactivate it, and then upgrade to the new Roboform 7. You don't have to pay for anything.

What are you using - Roboform Desktop or Roboform Everywhere? It seems to be a separate program and I am using the Everywhere version.

As far as I can see, Roboform Everywhere is available to everyone as part of Roboform Pro. I switched off of it yesterday to just my desktop, because it had added sweepstakes that expired a year ago to my passcards. I didn't spend much time on it, but I couldn't find how I delete them off of Roboform.com. It didn't have any effect on my going back to Version 6, reactivating, and upgrading to Version 7 though.

I followed your advice and it seems to be working out. whew! thanks. Nevertheless, this is workaround is not their intention, they are trying to get people to pay for it again. I posted my query on their FB wall and here is their reply:

Please see our FAQ for more information regarding why we are charging: http://www.roboform.com/support/faq/roboform-v7

Update: It's not working well anymore. I am getting constant error messages to sync with the online version before it will fill anything. We are being shaken down for a yearly fee.

I'm not understanding what could seem like they want you to pay for it again! Nothing ever asked me to pay for it again anytime I have had to reinstall and reactivate it. Plus, once you buy it, you have a personal license number assigned to you. You used to need to need the number to sign in, but now your account can simply be retrieved with just signing in with your name and email.

If you have any questions for them go through their contact and open a ticket with your question. They have always gotten back to me within 24 hours, and they are very nice and helpful! :)

They're not looking for more money. Just turn off the syncing and go to using just your desktop in the meantime. Open a ticket on their contact and ask for help with whatever problem you are having.

I did all these things, downgrading multiple times to 6, upgrading to the 7 desktop only, and now it's functioning like nagware. For every passcard it has to fill there is an upgrade message.

I'm glad you got yours working but the truth is they want more money. And they want it right now. You can check their FB wall where I questioned them about this. They don't deny it.

Thank you for your message.

You are using new Roboform v.7 trial now. You can upgrade to full version 7 or roll back to v.6.

We are very sorry for your confusion with upgrade to v.7. It's our first non-free upgrade for 10 years.

RoboForm 7 has many new upgrades over RoboForm 6 that normally would be separate products:
* Automatic Synchronization via RoboForm Everywhere account.
* Password management for Windows applications.
* Better User Interface (complete rewrite) and many more new features.
* New browsers supported: Chrome, Safari, Firefox 4.
* New operating systems supported: Mac OS, Linux.
* New mobile devices: iPhone, iPad, Android (coming soon).

Security products generally charge annually for their services as they continually need to monitor new threats and update their software. We face similar challenges with RoboForm. There are new browsers, the existing browsers are constantly changing, new web forms are always popping-up, password entry schemes get more complicated, even HTML is evolving.
To make the business of producing and supporting the best password manager financially viable, Siber Systems needs to charge for major version updates.

We created a new license options with the release of RoboForm 7.

You can upgrade here:
https://secure.roboform.com/php/pums/pums_usrlogfrm_upgrade.php

If you have questions about upgrade, the answers are here:
http://www.roboform.com/support/faq/roboform-v7

We can give you one year free of RoboForm Everywhere, this license is good for all your computers and portable drives
Just go to Purchase -> Everywhere page
click Continue to confirm choice of RoboForm Everywhere 7 license,
select USD Paper Check / Money Order payment option.

Do not send a check to us, instead we will activate it for free.
