Recession and sweepstakes

There's supposed to be a recession coming, or so they say. I haven't done any sweepstaking during a recession. Some of you are long-timers. How does it affect sweeps? Are there more, less, the same?

my thoughts on this are that there would be more because sponsors would want to capitalize on lost sells do to less money being spent to try to attract more business there way. They may even stretch some of the dates to have the sweep last longer!

That is a very good theory, at least I hope sponsors will feel and think this way. I hope it brings more instant win games with quick turnaround times as a winner with the product could try it out quickly and pass on the word or become a potential customer.

On the less optimistic side, lower sales for some sponsors may mean a re-evaluation of how they spend their marketing dollars, and a lower occurrance of sweeps.

Also, more layoffs and lost jobs may lead to more sweepers in general.
