Sounds like a scam to me. Can you copy and paste it here so that we can take a look at it (ommitting personal info)?
 
You didn't give us much to work with, so here's some general advise that may help. From whom did you receive the note? If the return email address is from hotmail, yahoo.uk, etc... the win is a scam. Within the note, is there any contact information? Read over it and see if it looks questionable. Are they asking for any processing fees? If so, then the win is not legitimate. Is the "win" for a contest you really entered? If you're still not sure, please copy and paste the text of the email so that we can help you read over it. If you don't want to post it in a public forum, PM one of our moderators and he or she will be able to help you.
