Quick question about Brides.com sweepstakes

Well, the TRUTH in my heart says that only the sponsor's know the rules, and when they leave it open by having things to check such as wedding guest, etc., then that says to me that anyone can enter. I guess everybody has different thoughts on what is correct or not correct. I enter for tools and other men's things all the time if the rules don't say it's for men only. I think if it's that important, then the Sponsor's should make the rules clear and concise. This could be debated so many ways, and really, nobody really knows for certain. I think we all do the best we can with the rules as they are written.

The brides sweeps have a category for guest? Wow, it's been that long since I even looked at them! Guess I should pay more attention.

See a good discussion is a good thing! :headbang:

Absolutely, right on! The sponsor makes the rules. If they wanted to limit the entry to only those engaged to be married, it would be stipulated in the rules; and there are some sweepstakes that do stipulate that it's only open to engaged couples with a set wedding date. Their sweepstakes are open to all described in their rules including married people. I think because it's "Bride" magazine that some just assume the sweepstakes are just for brides. Well, then you can assume sweepstakes from "Woman's Day" are just for women, "Men's Health" just for men, "Epicurious" is just for chefs, etc. "Wedding Date" and "Role" are just for information gathering for their magazine. The rules are clear on who can enter. So, I don't see the reason for personally reinventing the rules to lecture to others whether or not they can enter. The rules clearly state that I can enter, so I do when I want to win the prize.

:sunny: A few years ago, someone posted a win from there. They had won a wonderful honeymoon trip. It was a single girl and when the sponsor contacted her, she told them that she was married, was not engaged and they had no problem with her taking the great trip with a BF.
