Question regarding OLS and SA

Hi I have been sweeping for about 9 years. I was wondering if this site is better than OLS. Not sure if this is a touchy question but I have been coming here for a few months and am wondering if I should make the switch and become a member here? Any thoughts?? It does seem from some of the sweeps I hav entered here were not on ols so I am thinking there are more here. Help! I appreciate all comments and help!

Hi jolee62! It's all just a matter of personal preference. I happen to prefer SA because they have the best free sweeping tools, the sweeps are better organized,the members are friendy and the admin at SA listens to their members to give them what they want. I also like the fact the forum at SA is family friendly and doesn't allow bullying. OLS seems to allow members to bully and post snarky remarks.
 
I don't know anything about OLS but I have been a member here for over 7 years and would never consider even looking into another site. The fact that you are researching other sweeps sites tells me you aren't entirely satisfied with OLS. This is the best site you will ever find! The tools, the people, the administrators, and general atmosphere of SA just can't be beat! Please come join us!
 
Thank you both for your help! Its not that I am unhappy with OLS at all but my membership is expiring in April and was wondering if I should switch to SW. I dont want to enter through both because I dont want to disqualify myself on one time entries. I spend alot of time sweeping and it just seemed that SA has more sweeps. I was also wondering if anyone use to be a member of OLS and switched to SW and what they thought!! Thank you for any help!

I've been gone from there for far too long to say, but IMHO, SA has the best sweeps tools, and now has PLUS - where where YOU create your own custom My Sweepstakes Category and then add any sweepstakes you choose to that custom list!

I very recently moved from OLS and have found many more sweeps that I want to enter at this site. Also many of the features that Brent at OLS has promised but never delivered are available here. It takes a little getting used to but this site works well and the Owners/Moderators are very available to help. I'm glad I moved!!

That's what I just don't get - hard core sweepers should be here, not there, for all the reasons you posted!

It helps that SA's editors work hard to keep on top/ahead of things!!! :cool:

At 1st, I thought I would never adjust to the different format, but Ken and the editors work hard to make this site sweeper friendly, so the adjustment takes less time than you'd think!

I guess the lure of the forums keeps them there? I much prefer the perspective of SA'ers! :p

I think I am going to make the change when my ols premium expires. I thank you all for your input. At this moment ols is down and does this happen to SA?? I know it will take me time to get used to this new site but I am excited to give it a try!! Thank you all

When I left, outages there were practically daily {nightly} and it was very annoying.

I've been here at SA since 2006, and I think there have been a handful of outages, and most of the time, Ken gives us a heads up here:

I've been here for a long time and would never think of going anywhere else. All the people on here are so positive, helpful, and supportive. That, in combination with the excellent supply of sweeps to enter = I would never go elsewhere. I'm on here just about daily and have never had any issues. Join us and you will see how cool we all are :) Well, I'm sort of dorky, but I'm nice :) Hope to see you posting wins on here soon!

Did you know there used to be a site called SOL also? OLS and SOL both existed for awhile in the same time frame, but SOL has been out of business now for a number of years. You can see a screen shot of its old web page here:

I’m not sure, but I believe SOL pre-dated OLS by a number of years. SOL was a strictly a fee for service site. Declining membership and insufficient income caused it to go out of business.

Like other SA members, I made the switch from OLS years ago and haven't looked back till now. I just checked, and I'm still listed as member there, even though I haven't used the site in years - I guess they don't purge inactive members.

You'll love it here. In spite of claims to the contrary by OLS, Ken and Diane have created the webs premier sweepstakes site here at SA.

If you ever have a problem or a question, Ken, Diane, the Moderators and the members are all helpful, friendly and supportive, and the list of sweeps is second to none.

I am also a paid member at OLS waiting on my subscription to expire. I have been entering and using you guys for a few weeks and I have actually told other members on the OLS forums about this site! I was wondering the paid portion do you get more sweeps or is it just you can organize your sweeps easier with the options?
 
You do not get more sweeps. The sweeps are the same.

You do get more tools to organize your sweeps.

lrichard79 - Ken {wisely} chose to focus on the tools being the draw to join PLUS, since "hiding" sweeps to get members to pay for access only works on those who don't comprehend that access to sweeps is free by law.

In essence, reducing competition from other sweepers by paying for access to sweeps is just an illusion.

Those who only utilize the site that does so, as non-paying members? well, they are the only competition reduced!

See, if one had the time, checking all of the myriad sweepstakes collating services {ie; sweeps sites like SA and companies that promote and run sweepstakes} and/or checking all of the myriad Facebook, Twitter, etc. walls/feeds would ensure that one would find all the offered promos, removing the supposed edge one would achieve.

Of course, most sweepers are looking for an edge - so while access to sweepstakes is important, access without ability is moot - the tools SA/SP offers provide the savvy sweeper that ability; saving you time and effort!

All facebook sweeps are listed and available for entry. However, there is no category for daily entry unless you become a sweepstakes plus member. You'll need to ad daily facebok sweeps to your favorites or bookmark 'em if you wish to continue to enter after the initial listing.

I'm not sure if this also applies to weekly and monthly entry sweeps.

Personally, I enter very few facebook sweeps, so this isn't important to me.
 
I'm considering moving to SA, too. I won't disparage OLS; however, making the change itself is the overwhelming part. Taking care not to disqualifying myself by entering the same sweepstakes more than the rules allow is another factor. I have been looking around for days now, and I have noticed two very important facts. SA members win. SA providers communicate very well. I asked a question for which I found the answer myself, after a quicker look, by private message on FB to avoid any problems. I had a response in less than 12 hours! And it was a dumb question! That is something I could well become accustomed to enjoying.

Hi bhjustice. SA has very little "drama" in the forums and comments to distract, so members are busy entering - and winning!

Yeah, the sticky wicket is the 1x'ers, but, most sponsors/JA's will just discard extra entries, rarely will they DQ you!

The free tools are excellent, but PLUS is designed for the busy sweeper who has more enthusiasm than time!

SA is all about sweeping, and helping fellow sweepers - no question is ever dumb!
