Problems with Ads

The new ads that show on the page before you are sent to the actual form (which I believe are put there by SA) are not working...Not the ads but then the next step where it forwards me to the site I want to go to. I can tolerate the ads (I know SA needs to make money) but it's annoying that it's not working to get me to the next site. The problem just started this evening (when I came home for work and started my sweeps). The problem seems limited to the sites with those ads and reloading or retrying the link doesn't seem to be helping.
 
I don't get any ads on SA.

You might have a cookie on your computer that might be causing these ads to appear. Maybe, trying cleaning up your computer and see if that clears up the problem.
 
My boyfriend works in the computer industry and so my computer is locked down like a fortress. I doubt it's a virus but I'll run a scan...

These ads are new and have included ads for prize wish so I'm pretty sure they are related to SA. They aren't pop ups. Just like a page it goes to into between SA and the site I clicked on a link to
 
an example is when I click on the sweep GoodHousekeeping.Com - Select Comfort Seal Deals Giveaway in today's new one time entry sweeps. The URL that pops up in between is http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/ilm/goodhousekeeping and then i get the following error

No, they aren't working. They are preventing me (and apparently others) from reaching the sweeps sites at all. I'm getting two error messages:

But even if they WERE working correctly, they will, in my opinion, be a total disaster for SA. I've seen other sweeps sites start to use these framing techniques and it's pretty much destroyed their traffic. It makes the whole process cumbersome and annoying. I do this stuff for fun. When it stops being fun, I stop doing it.
 
This has been corrected. This is a new application and we had a database issue. I am looking into preventing it from happening again. Simply clicking the "skip" button will bypass the ad or waiting the 20 seconds. Please remember that SA is 100% free. These ads help keep it free. SA, due to its traffic and extensive database activity (my sweepstakes, sweepscheck, etc) is a very expensive site to run. In this economy sponsors are not exactly coming out of the woodwork.

Sponsors are burning the woodwork to stay warm. Money is getting tight on the health related sites too, as pharma spending is down due to drops in revenue. Never thought it would get this bad. Thank you for staying on top of things! :sunny:
 
I'd rather see an ad or two than pay a membership fee like the other major site does. And, all the new tools we have are well worth a click here and a view there! Think Sweepspop! :sunny:

I agree.. will I do like sweepspop the note feature is still my fav.. and its all free.
 
It will open a whole page of your dailys or instants all at the same time. That way your don't have to open them up individually. And, it is far better than the personal note feature! :headbang: :booty"

I totally agree !

Sweepspop was the deciding factor in my recent decision to leave a pay site to start sweeping here at SA.

Considering all the other excellent sweeping tools SA offers coupled with the joy of discovering that the blog sweeps were in a separate category (hooray, hooray !!!) - well, it was a no-brainer to make the move, even though I had just paid for a full year at the other site.

I appreciate Ken's efforts to keep SA free for everyone, especially in this tough economy - so a few clicks here & there ? No problem !!
