Prize delivery trip won in Dec.

In Dec., I won a $1,600 travel credit from Alaska Airlines (administered by ePrize) and still haven't seen anything of the prize. After emailing them in early March, they said to wait a couple more weeks and be patient. Fine, still no prize. I'm getting a bit worried because according to the rules the prize is time sensitive, and has to be used by 12/31. I can't book a trip going to Alaska after August anyway.

I just emailed them again, no answer yet. What do you think they're going to do about this? It's unreasonable to wait more than 4 mos. when prize delivery is supposed to occur in 8-10 weeks after being validated as the winner (I was validated on 12/18/07).

:sunny: Sorry to hear about your problem. Although it may seem unreasonable it is not unusual to have to wait for a prize even after confirmation. About all you can do since you just emailed them is to wait for the answer. Perhaps you will just need to book it by 12/31. Alaska Airlines is great to work with so at least you have that going for you. Best of luck in getting the answers you want.

Still no answer from them. They should give winners the cash equivalent if the sponsor can't come up with the g.c.

I've won vouchers through them at least twice. Both times, I didn't get them for a long time. Wait until you have to deal with them to readjust a 1099 (they don't do it on their own). We got ours on our one trip for the full value ($5,000)--to New York!! We called the sponsor, they checked the costs, and said it came to $1,300+--they'd have the 1099 readjusted. We got another one for $3,600+, the amount that was supposed to come off. We called the sponsor again to have it straightened out. Instead, of ePrize putting down the correct figures, they just broke the $3,600+ into each cost to show us what expenses were. Let's see, like the $300 DJ Scratch Academy class (their posted price online for this class) was now $1,100! The limo ride was $1,200 (limo company said $350 each way). Two slices of pizza, a couple of sandwiches, and drinks were $190. The $265/night room we stayed in was $1,200. Someone there was way too lazy to do their job and look up the correct costs! :nono:

If and when I finally get a voucher from them, I will try to book an Alaskan cruise. With the airfare, it would max out the whole gift cert.

Good luck and hopefully you'll get to enjoy a really nice trip....

They DO have to come with a prize in some form or another, don't they?

Still waiting for answer. (Sweepyhead taps foot.)

Yes, they do; and they will! All the Shrek prizes from one that ended in December are also overdue. We've been waiting about a year now on one of our trips to NYC. They called yesterday and offered us a trip to Seattle instead, because that's the only event they have scheduled right now. It's for a Rhapsody/Rolling Stones event only. We said no and that we would wait. On that trip, we would also have to pay for two extra seats for our children. So, we patiently wait until they have an event come up in NYC. Why they ran this sweepstakes without first knowing for sure there would be a NYC event, I don't know; but they do owe us the prize, and they'll eventually come through!

Cool beans! I'd take the Seattle trip because I'm too close to NY for it to feel like a vacation. Once I was able to trade a NYC trip to a Los Angeles trip. ESPN was the sponsor. They probably get travel donations from sponsors which is why it's hard to get them to give cash instead.

My issue with ePrize was the time sensitivity of the g.c. as described in the rules. I guess they don't take the rules as literally as I do.

We have no interest in going to Seattle. For the thousands of times, I've been to NYC all my life, there's nothing like actually staying there. We love it.

Also, remember, ePrize doesn't handle getting the prize; they are just distributing the prize after they receive it. You may want to contact the actual sponsor.

That's so different from me; I'm always looking to get out of town and head for the west. Yes, maybe I will contact Alaskan Airlines and see what's up.

Oh, we love trips to other places; but we just have no interest in certain areas, Seattle being one of them. We travel all the time all over the place. I just love staying in the city though. It's like you can shop and eat to your hearts content all weekend and have a place to leave your stuff, come back to take a break, get all your food take out from the restaurants to eat in the room, etc. It's so much fun. Much better than hopping on and off the train which we'll be doing saturday for the circus. I'll wave when we go by! :crazytongue:

Still waiting for this, and they never answered my second email. What would you do?

Did you contact Alaska Airlines directly? Also, do you have a frequent flyers account with them? You usually need an account to get the travel credit.

I haven't contacted them directly - been busy. Yes, I have a frequent flier account and logged in last night to see. I have 500 travel miles, but don't know where they came from. Maybe for signing up.

Contact them directly. ePrize bit off more than they can handle, and it just seems they can't keep up with it all. I know that ePrize can't award any prizes until they themselves get it; but, in this case, I would assume Alaska Airlines would just deposit the credit to your account directly.

You're right, I should have contacted them directly. That angle slipped my mind. If they can't come up with the travel credit they should pay it in cash. The wait for the credit is ridiculous because there's a deadline to use it. It should have been made available in January because it's only good until 12/31/08.

Kind of like winning movie tickets that expire in a month!

It sucks, because I wanted to go to Alaska, but they stop traveling there in August and you have to book by the spring!

I contacted Alaska Air and let's see if they answer.

Just hope they don't go belly up like others have been doing. Maybe, you also want to check how they're doing. You never know if they're having problems. That would definitely explain not getting the credit yet.
