Prayer Of The Day

Davey and Goliath. It was a claymation series. I don't remember his sister's name though. We watched it every Sunday morning growing up. I believe they are available on DVD now. It was a good show.

I will pray for my husband again today because he is facing some challenges at work so I am lifting him up to the Lord.

Father in heaven you are true to your word and you promised to be right by our side when we are going through trials. Be with him today as he continues to deal with adversity and bring this whole situation to it's conclusion. You have always provided for us Lord and I know you always will. Lord lift up all men of God so that they can be the head of their household and that they will speak blessings over their families. Thank you for a man after your own heart Amen and Amen

Matthew 10
1AND JESUS summoned to Him His twelve disciples and gave them power and authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of weakness and infirmity.
2Now these are the names of the twelve apostles (special messengers): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3Philip and Bartholomew [Nathaniel]; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus [Judas, not Iscariot];

4Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

5Jesus sent out these twelve, charging them, Go nowhere among the Gentiles and do not go into any town of the Samaritans;

6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand!

8Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give.

9Take no gold nor silver nor [even] copper money in your purses (belts);

10And do not take a provision bag or a [a]wallet for a collection bag for your journey, nor two undergarments, nor sandals, nor a staff; for the workman deserves his support (his living, his food).

11And into whatever town or village you go, inquire who in it is deserving, and stay there [at his house] until you leave [that vicinity].

12As you go into the house, give your greetings and wish it well.

13Then if indeed that house is deserving, let come upon it your peace [that is, freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin]. But if it is not deserving, let your peace return to you.

14And whoever will not receive and accept and welcome you nor listen to your message, as you leave that house or town, shake the dust [of it] from your feet.

15Truly I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

16Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be [c]wary and wise as serpents, and be innocent (harmless, guileless, and [d]without falsity) as doves.(A)

17Be on guard against men [whose [e]way or nature is to act in opposition to God]; for they will deliver you up to councils and flog you in their synagogues,

18And you will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a witness to bear testimony before them and to the Gentiles (the nations).

19But when they deliver you up, do not be anxious about how or what you are to speak; for what you are to say will be given you in that very hour and [f]moment,

20For it is not you who are speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

21Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children will take a stand against their parents and will have them put to death.

22And you will be hated by all for My name's sake, but he who perseveres and endures to the end will be saved [[g]from spiritual disease and death in the world to come].

23When they persecute you in one town [that is, pursue you in a manner that would injure you and cause you to suffer because of your belief], flee to another town; for truly I tell you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before [h]the Son of Man comes.

24A disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a servant or slave above his master.

25It is sufficient for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant or slave like his master. If they have called the Master of the house Beelzebub [master of the dwelling], how much more will they speak evil of those of His household. [II Kings 1:2.]

26So have no fear of them; for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known.

27What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

28And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna).

29Are not two [j]little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave (consent) and notice.

30But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31Fear not, then; you are of more value than many sparrows.

32Therefore, everyone who acknowledges Me before men and confesses Me [[k]out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven and [l]confess [that I am abiding in] him.

33But whoever denies and disowns Me before men, I also will deny and disown him before My Father Who is in heaven.

34Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

35For I have come to part asunder a man from his father, and a daughter from her mother, and a [m]newly married wife from her mother-in-law--

36And a man's foes will be they of his own household.(B)

37He who loves [and [n]takes more pleasure in] father or mother more than [in] Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves [and takes more pleasure in] son or daughter more than [in] Me is not worthy of Me;

38And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [[o]cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me.

39Whoever finds his [[p]lower] life will lose it [the higher life], and whoever loses his [lower] life on My account will find it [the higher life].

40He who receives and welcomes and accepts you receives and welcomes and accepts Me, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts Me receives and welcomes and accepts Him Who sent Me.

41He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

Matthew 11
1WHEN JESUS had finished His charge to His twelve disciples, He left there to teach and to preach in their [Galilean] cities.
2Now when John in prison heard about the activities of Christ, he sent a message by his disciples

3And asked Him, Are You the One Who was to come, or should we keep on expecting a different one?(A)

4And Jesus replied to them, Go and report to John what you hear and see:

5The blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed (by healing) and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have good news (the Gospel) preached to them.(B)

6And blessed (happy, fortunate, and [a]to be envied) is he who takes no offense at Me and finds no cause for stumbling in or through Me and is not hindered from seeing the Truth.

7Then as these men went their way, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: What did you go out in the wilderness (desert) to see? A reed swayed by the wind?

8What did you go out to see then? A man clothed in soft garments? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in the houses of kings.

9But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one [out of the common, more eminent, more remarkable, and] [c]superior to a prophet.

10This is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, who shall make ready Your way before You.(C)

11Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

12And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize--a [d]share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

13For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied up until John.

14And if you are willing to receive and accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come [before the kingdom].(D)

15He who has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him consider and [e]perceive and comprehend by hearing.

16But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like little children sitting in the marketplaces who call to their playmates,

17We piped to you [playing wedding], and you did not dance; we wailed dirges [playing funeral], and you did not mourn and beat your breasts and weep aloud.

18For John came neither eating nor drinking [with others], and they say, He has a demon!

19The Son of Man came eating and drinking [with others], and they say, Behold, a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and [[f]especially wicked] sinners! Yet wisdom is justified and vindicated by what she does (her deeds) and by [g]her children.

20Then He began to censure and reproach the cities in which most of His mighty works had been performed, because they did not repent [and their hearts were not changed].

21Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes [and their hearts would have been changed].

22I tell you [further], it shall be more endurable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

23And you, Capernaum, are you to be lifted up to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades [the region of the dead]! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have continued until today.

24But I tell you, it shall be more endurable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.

25At that time Jesus began to say, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [and [h]I acknowledge openly and joyfully to Your honor], that You have hidden these things from the wise and clever and learned, and revealed them to babies [to the childish, untaught, and unskilled].

26Yes, Father, [I praise You that] such was Your gracious will and good pleasure.

27All things have been entrusted and delivered to Me by My Father; and no one [j]fully knows and [k]accurately understands the Son except the Father, and no one [l]fully knows and [m]accurately understands the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son [n]deliberately wills to make Him known.

28Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will [o]ease and relieve and [p]refresh [q]your souls.]

29Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest ([r]relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.(E)

30For My yoke is wholesome (useful, [t]good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

I just wanted to add today a little something about what I think about the Bible. I have heard people say how can you believe what this book says and it contradicts itself and how can a God kill babies and so on and so on.

My belief is this. The wisdom that is in these writings were given to man by God and to the wise man of this world who are not Christ's they are hard to understand because their hearts are not open to what it says. The words on the pages sing to me and each time I read them I walk away with something new I did not get the last time I read that same scripture.

To me it's just so simple I understand the teachings of the Bible and they are his love letter to me.

So if anyone is seeking the truth in this book be as a child and see the simplicity of it all. Hunger for the truth and it will be revealed to you.

I thank you Lord for your letters to me and how all the answers to any question I will ever have are in this book Amen

I have a dream

To dream for a better life for all mankind is something that goes along with what Christ teaches. We can all have equality in him because there is no partiality with God. All mankind is created in the image of God and there is no hatred and no skin color but we are all the same.

Today love one another as Christ first loved you. Tell those around you you love them and you also have a dream for a better life for all.

Thank you Lord for dreams Amen

I am saying a prayer for a special person. Know that God is with you and cares for you. He is holding your hand real tight.

You know what I am walking through my life knowing where it will lead me and that is straight to the kingdom of God. Now if while I'm walking in that direction I figure I might meet a few people along the way so I think I will have a conversation with them about where my journey leads. And if I am persuasive enough and passionate enough and forth coming enough just maybe a few will take this journey with me.

Shall we walk together anyone? God bless.

Matthew 12
1AT THAT [a]particular time Jesus went through the fields of standing grain on the Sabbath; and His disciples were hungry, and they began to pick off the spikes of grain and to eat.(A)
2And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, See there! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful and not permitted on the Sabbath.

3He said to them, Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, and those who accompanied him--(B)

4How he went into the house of God and ate the loaves of the showbread--which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for the men who accompanied him, but for the priests only?

5Or have you never read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the sanctity of the Sabbath [breaking it] and yet are guiltless?(C)

6But I tell you, Something greater and more exalted and more majestic than the temple is here!

7And if you had only known what this saying means, I desire mercy [readiness to help, to spare, to forgive] rather than sacrifice and sacrificial victims, you would not have condemned the guiltless.(D)

8For the Son of Man is Lord [even] of the Sabbath.

9And going on from there, He went into their synagogue.

10And behold, a man was there with one withered hand. And they said to Him, Is it lawful or allowable to cure people on the Sabbath days?--that they might accuse Him.

11But He said to them, What man is there among you, if he has only one sheep and it falls into a pit or ditch on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out?

12How much better and of more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful and allowable to do good on the Sabbath days.

13Then He said to the man, Reach out your hand. And the man reached it out and it was restored, as sound as the other one.

14But the Pharisees went out and held a consultation against Him, how they might do away with Him.

15But being aware of this, Jesus went away from there. And many people [c]joined and accompanied Him, and He cured all of them,

16And strictly charged them and sharply warned them not to make Him [d]publicly known.

17This was in fulfillment of what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah,

18Behold, My Servant Whom I have chosen, My Beloved in and with Whom My soul is well pleased and [e]has found its delight. I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall proclaim and [f]show forth justice to the nations.

19He will not strive or wrangle or cry out loudly; nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets;

20A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering (dimly burning) wick He will not quench, till He brings [g]justice and a just cause to victory.

21And in and on His name will the Gentiles (the [h]peoples outside of Israel) set their hopes.(E)

22Then a blind and dumb man under the power of a demon was brought to Jesus, and He cured him, so that the blind and dumb man both spoke and saw.

23And all the [crowds of] people were stunned with bewildered wonder and said, This cannot be the Son of David, can it?

24But the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This Man drives out demons only by and with the help of Beelzebub, the prince of demons.

25And knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Any kingdom that is divided against itself is being brought to desolation and laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will last or continue to stand.

26And if Satan drives out Satan, he has become divided against himself and disunified; how then will his kingdom last or continue to stand?

27And if I drive out the demons by [help of] Beelzebub, by whose [help] do your sons drive them out? [j]For this reason they shall be your judges.

28But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you [[k]before you expected it].

29Or how can a person go into a strong man's house and carry off his goods (the entire equipment of his house) without first binding the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

30He who is not with Me [definitely [l]on My side] is against Me, and he who does not [definitely] gather with Me and for [m]My side scatters.

31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy (every evil, abusive, [n]injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things) can be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit shall not and [o]cannot be forgiven.

32And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Spirit, the Holy One, will not be forgiven, either in this world and age or in the world and age to come.

33Either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad); for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit.

34You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the [p]superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.

35The good man from his inner good treasure [q]flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse [r]flings forth evil things.

36But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak.

37For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

38Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, Teacher, we desire to see a sign or miracle from You [proving that You are what You claim to be].

39But He replied to them, An evil and adulterous generation (a generation [t]morally unfaithful to God) seeks and demands a sign; but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

40For even as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.(F)

41The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, Someone more and greater than Jonah is here!(G)

42The queen of the South will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, Someone more and greater than Solomon is here. [I Kings 10:1; II Chron. 9:1.]

43But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through dry [arid] places in search of rest, but it does not find any.

44Then it says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order, and decorated.

45Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So also shall it be with this wicked generation.

46Jesus was still speaking to the people when behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to Him.

47Someone said to Him, Listen! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.

48But He replied to the man who told Him, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?

49And stretching out His hand toward [not only the twelve disciples but all] [v]His adherents, He said, Here are My mother and My brothers.

50For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother!

Today I will start the book of John. It is the first place to start if you're just wanting to learn about Jesus.

John 1
1IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word ([a]Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.(A)
2He was present originally with God.

3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.

4In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.

5And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

6There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.(B)

7This man came to witness, that he might testify of the Light, that all men might believe in it [adhere to it, trust it, and rely upon it] through him.

8He was not the Light himself, but came that he might bear witness regarding the Light.

9There it was--the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person.(C)

10He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him].

11He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own--His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him.

12But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--(D)

13Who owe their birth neither to [c]bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]

14And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.(E)

15John testified about Him and cried out, This was He of Whom I said, He Who comes after me has priority over me, for He was before me. [He takes rank above me, for He existed before I did. He has advanced before me, because He is my Chief.]

16For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.

17For while the Law was given through Moses, grace ([d]unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.(F)

18No man has ever seen God at any time; the only [e]unique Son, or [f]the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].(G)

19And this is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites to him from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you?

20He confessed (admitted the truth) and did not try to conceal it, but acknowledged, I am not the Christ!

21They asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not! Are you the Prophet? And he answered, No!(H)

22Then they said to him, Who are you? Tell us, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?

23He said, I am the voice of one crying aloud in the wilderness [the voice of one shouting in the desert], Prepare the way of the Lord [level, straighten out, the path of the Lord], as the prophet Isaiah said.(I)

24The messengers had been sent from the Pharisees.

25And they asked him, Why then are you baptizing if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?

26John answered them, I [only] baptize [g]in (with) water. Among you there stands One Whom you do not recognize and with Whom you are not acquainted and of Whom you know nothing.(J)

27It is He Who, coming after me, is preferred before me, the string of Whose sandal I am not worthy to unloose.

28These things occurred in Bethany (Bethabara) across the Jordan [[h]at the Jordan crossing], where John was then baptizing.

29The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, Look! There is the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world!(K)

30This is He of Whom I said, After me comes a Man Who has priority over me [Who takes rank above me] because He was before me and existed before I did.

31And I did not know Him and did not recognize Him [myself]; but it is in order that He should be made manifest and be revealed to Israel [be brought out where we can see Him] that I came baptizing in (with) water.

32John gave further evidence, saying, I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it dwelt on Him [never to depart].

33And I did not know Him nor recognize Him, but He Who sent me to baptize [j]in (with) water said to me, Upon Him Whom you shall see the Spirit descend and remain, that One is He Who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

34And I have seen [that happen--I actually did see it] and my testimony is that this is the Son of God!

35Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,

36And he looked at Jesus as He walked along, and said, Look! There is the Lamb of God!

37The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Him.

38But Jesus turned, and as He saw them following Him, He said to them, What are you looking for? [And what is it you wish?] And they answered Him, Rabbi--which translated is Teacher--where are You staying?

39He said to them, Come and see. So they went and saw where He was staying, and they remained with Him [k]that day. It was then about the tenth hour (about four o'clock in the afternoon).

40One of the two who heard what John said and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

41He first sought out and found his own brother Simon and said to him, We have found (discovered) the Messiah!--which translated is the Christ (the Anointed One).

42Andrew then led (brought) Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, You are Simon son of John. You shall be called Cephas--which translated is Peter [Stone].

43The next day Jesus desired and decided to go into Galilee; and He found Philip and said to him, Join Me as My attendant and follow Me.

44Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the same city as Andrew and Peter.

45Philip sought and found Nathanael and told him, We have found (discovered) the One Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote about--Jesus from Nazareth, the [legal] son of Joseph!

46Nathanael answered him, [Nazareth!] Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip replied, Come and see!

47Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him and said concerning him, See! Here is an Israelite indeed [a true descendant of Jacob], in whom there is no guile nor deceit nor falsehood nor duplicity!

48Nathanael said to Jesus, How do You know me? [How is it that You know these things about me?] Jesus answered him, Before [ever] Philip called you, when you were still under the fig tree, I saw you.

49Nathanael answered, Teacher, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!

50Jesus replied, Because I said to you, I saw you beneath the fig tree, do you believe in and rely on and trust in Me? You shall see greater things than this!

51Then He said to him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you all, you shall see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man!(L

If you press in to a relationship with Jesus you will have so much more than you can imagine. To press in means to seek his face to want to spend time with him. He desires that we want to spend time with him.It just helps us to trust him and our faith will grow and we will have peace.

Father I pray that we press in to have a deep relationship with you and only you can have that part of us that shares our every need and our every fear. You knew us before we were born and you desire for us is to spend time with you. Draw us near to you and be our Father Amen.

Be blessed and be a blessing

"Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and withers..."(John 15:4-6)

John 2
1ON THE third day there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2Jesus also was invited with His disciples to the wedding.

3And when the wine was all gone, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no more wine!

4Jesus said to her, [[a]Dear] woman, what is that to you and to Me? [What do we have in common? Leave it to Me.] My time (hour to act) has not yet come.(A)

5His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it.

6Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece.

7Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the brim.

8Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet]. So they took him some.

9And when the manager tasted the water just now turned into wine, not knowing where it came from--though the servants who had drawn the water knew--he called the bridegroom

10And said to him, Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now!

11This, the first of His signs (miracles, wonderworks), Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory [by it He displayed His greatness and His power openly], and His disciples believed in Him [adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him].(B)

12After that He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and disciples, and they stayed there only a few days.

13Now the Passover of the Jews was approaching, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14There He found in the temple [enclosure] those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting there [also at their stands].

15And having made a lash (a whip) of cords, He drove them all out of the temple [[c]enclosure]--both the sheep and the oxen--spilling and scattering the brokers' money and upsetting and tossing around their trays (their stands).

16Then to those who sold the doves He said, Take these things away (out of here)! Make not My Father's house a house of merchandise (a marketplace, a sales shop)!(C)

17And His disciples remembered that it is written [in the Holy Scriptures], Zeal (the fervor of love) for Your house will eat Me up. [I will be consumed with jealousy for the honor of Your house.](D)

18Then the Jews retorted, What sign can [d]You show us, seeing You do these things? [What sign, miracle, token, indication can You give us as evidence that You have authority and are commissioned to act in this way?]

19Jesus answered them, Destroy (undo) this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.

20Then the Jews replied, It took forty-six years to build this temple (sanctuary), and will You raise it up in three days?

21But He had spoken of the temple which was His body.

22When therefore He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this. And so they believed and trusted and relied on the Scripture and the word (message) Jesus had spoken.(E)

23But when He was in Jerusalem during the Passover Feast, many believed in His name [identified themselves with His party] after seeing His signs (wonders, miracles) which He was doing.

24But Jesus [for His part] did not trust Himself to them, because He knew all [men];

25And He did not need anyone to bear witness concerning man [needed no evidence from anyone about men], for He Himself knew what was in human nature. [He could read men's hearts.] [I Sam. 16:7.]

Cin,
What great posts. I really enjoyed reading them! Thank you so much for taking the time to post them!
God Bless!

Thank you for saying such kind words but the great thing about this is that it blesses me each day because I know Christ is in this.

Blessings to you also.

Some times I hear people say they believe in God and they ask for prayer but their lives are not showing fruit. Jesus spoke of baring fruit and that if we don't we will wither away and die. I ask Father that I am constantly barring fruit and that whatever I do for the kingdom will grow and some might be saved Amen.

I have seen and heard some curse God and then turn around and thank him in the same breath. How can this be? If we are serving him and have the Holy Spirit in us then we can not do such a thing.

Lord let us examine ourselves today and see the truth inside our hearts so that we can turn from our wicked ways Amen.

John 3
1NOW THERE was a certain man among the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler (a leader, an authority) among the Jews,
2Who came to Jesus at night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know and are certain that You have come from God [as] a Teacher; for no one can do these signs (these wonderworks, these miracles--and produce the proofs) that You do unless God is with him.

3Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.

4Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb again and be born?

5Jesus answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and [[a]even] the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God.(A)

6What is born of [from] the flesh is flesh [of the physical is physical]; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7Marvel not [do not be surprised, astonished] at My telling you, You must all be born anew (from above).

8The wind blows (breathes) where it wills; and though you hear its sound, yet you neither know where it comes from nor where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

9Nicodemus answered by asking, How can all this be possible?

10Jesus replied, Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet do not know nor understand these things? [Are they strange to you?]

11I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, We speak only of what we know [we know absolutely what we are talking about]; we have actually seen what we are testifying to [we were eyewitnesses of it]. And still you do not receive our testimony [you reject and refuse our evidence--that of Myself and of all those who are born of the Spirit].

12If I have told you of things that happen right here on the earth and yet none of you believes Me, how can you believe (trust Me, adhere to Me, rely on Me) if I tell you of heavenly things?

13And yet no one has ever gone up to heaven, but there is One Who has come down from heaven--the Son of Man [Himself], Who is (dwells, has His home) in heaven.

14And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must [so it is necessary that] the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross],(B)

15In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may [c]not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever!

16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([d]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

17For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.

18He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation--he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.]

19The [basis of the] judgment (indictment, the test by which men are judged, the ground for the sentence) lies in this: the Light has come into the world, and people have loved the darkness rather than and more than the Light, for their works (deeds) were evil.(C)

20For every wrongdoer hates (loathes, detests) the Light, and will not come out into the Light but shrinks from it, lest his works (his deeds, his activities, his conduct) be exposed and reproved.

21But he who practices truth [who does what is right] comes out into the Light; so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are--wrought with God [divinely prompted, done with God's help, in dependence upon Him].

22After this, Jesus and His disciples went into the land (the countryside) of Judea, where He remained with them, and baptized.

23But John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, for there was an abundance of water there, and the people kept coming and being baptized.

24For John had not yet been thrown into prison.

25Therefore there arose a controversy between some of John's disciples and a Jew in regard to purification.

26So they came to John and reported to him, Rabbi, the Man Who was with you on the other side of the Jordan [[e]at the Jordan crossing]--and to Whom you yourself have borne testimony--notice, here He is baptizing too, and everybody is flocking to Him!

27John answered, A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing, he can [f]take unto himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source.]

28You yourselves are my witnesses [you personally bear me out] that I stated, I am not the Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), but I have [only] been sent before Him [in advance of Him, to be His appointed forerunner, His messenger, His announcer].(D)

29He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the groomsman who stands by and listens to him rejoices greatly and heartily on account of the bridegroom's voice. This then is my pleasure and joy, and it is now complete. [S. of Sol. 5:1.]

30He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so.](E)

31He Who comes from above (heaven) is [far] above all [others]; he who comes from the earth belongs to the earth, and talks the language of earth [his words are from an earthly standpoint]. He Who comes from heaven is [far] above all others [far superior to all others in prominence and in excellence].

32It is to what He has [actually] seen and heard that He bears testimony, and yet no one accepts His testimony [no one receives His evidence as true].

33Whoever receives His testimony has set his seal of approval to this: God is true. [That man has definitely certified, acknowledged, declared once and for all, and is himself assured that it is divine truth that God cannot lie].

34For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God [proclaims God's own message], God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!(F)

35The Father loves the Son and has given (entrusted, committed) everything into His hand.(G)

36And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God's displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.](

I have learned the more I put my trust in him the less I worry. It's human nature to worry but Jesus himself said worrying won't change a thing. God will meet our every need and he has our best intrest in mind. Does that mean we won't struggle at times no but when we do go through trials it brings us closer to God. My prayer today is don't just call on him in times of trouble but seek his face constantly. That is how you began to trust someone. You spend time with them and they are there for you. He has to come first in your life. He is at the center of who I am he is my foundation. He is my everything and without him I would be lost.

Praise and Honor to you my Savior Glory to your name for you are worthy of all praises.

John 4
1NOW WHEN the Lord knew (learned, became aware) that the Pharisees had been told that Jesus was winning and baptizing more disciples than John--
2Though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples--

3He left Judea and returned to Galilee.

4It was necessary for Him to go through Samaria.

5And in doing so, He arrived at a Samaritan town called Sychar, near the tract of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6And Jacob's well was there. So Jesus, tired as He was from His journey, sat down [to rest] by the well. It was then about the sixth hour (about noon).

7Presently, when a woman of Samaria came along to draw water, Jesus said to her, Give Me a drink--

8For His disciples had gone off into the town to buy food--

9The Samaritan woman said to Him, How is it that [a]You, being a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan [and a] woman, for a drink?--For the Jews have nothing to do with the Samaritans--

10Jesus answered her, If you had only known and had recognized God's gift and Who this is that is saying to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him [instead] and He would have given you living water.

11She said to Him, Sir, You have nothing to draw with [no drawing bucket] and the well is deep; how then can You provide living water? [Where do You get Your living water?]

12Are You greater than and superior to our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well and who used to drink from it himself, and his sons and his cattle also?

13Jesus answered her, All who drink of this water will be thirsty again.

14But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.

15The woman said to Him, Sir, give me this water, so that I may never get thirsty nor have to come [continually all the way] here to draw.

16At this, Jesus said to her, Go, call your husband and come back here.

17The woman answered, I have no husband. Jesus said to her, You have spoken truly in saying, I have no husband.

18For you have had five husbands, and the man you are now living with is not your husband. In this you have spoken truly.

19The woman said to Him, Sir, I see and understand that You are a prophet.

20Our forefathers worshiped on this mountain, but you [Jews] say that Jerusalem is the place where it is necessary and proper to worship.

21Jesus said to her, Woman, believe Me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither [merely] in this mountain nor [merely] in Jerusalem.

22You [Samaritans] do not know what you are worshiping [you worship what you do not comprehend]. We do know what we are worshiping [we worship what we have knowledge of and understand], for [after all] salvation comes from [among] the Jews.

23A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.

24God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).

25The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, He Who is called the Christ (the Anointed One); and when He arrives, He will tell us everything we need to know and make it clear to us.

26Jesus said to her, I Who now speak with you am He.

27Just then His disciples came and they wondered (were surprised, astonished) to find Him talking with a woman [a married woman]. However, not one of them asked Him, What are You inquiring about? or What do You want? or, Why do You speak with her?

28Then the woman left her water jar and went away to the town. And she began telling the people,

29Come, see a Man Who has told me everything that I ever did! Can this be [is not this] the Christ? [Must not this be the Messiah, the Anointed One?]

30So the people left the town and set out to go to Him.

31Meanwhile, the disciples urged Him saying, Rabbi, eat something.

32But He assured them, I have food (nourishment) to eat of which you know nothing and have no idea.

33So the disciples said one to another, Has someone brought Him something to eat?

34Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.

35Do you not say, It is still four months until harvest time comes? Look! I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields and see how they are already white for harvesting.

36Already the reaper is getting his wages [he who does the cutting now has his reward], for he is gathering fruit (crop) unto life eternal, so that he who does the planting and he who does the reaping may rejoice together.

37For in this the saying holds true, One sows and another reaps.

38I sent you to reap a crop for which you have not toiled. Other men have labored and you have stepped in to reap the results of their work.

39Now numerous Samaritans from that town believed in and trusted in Him because of what the woman said when she declared and testified, He told me everything that I ever did.

40So when the Samaritans arrived, they asked Him to remain with them, and He did stay there two days.

41Then many more believed in and adhered to and relied on Him because of His personal message [what He Himself said].

42And they told the woman, Now we no longer believe (trust, have faith) just because of what you said; for we have heard Him ourselves [personally], and we know that He truly is the Savior of the world, the Christ.

43But after these two days Jesus went on from there into Galilee--

44Although He Himself declared that a prophet has no honor in his own country.

45However, when He came into Galilee, the Galileans also welcomed Him and took Him to their hearts eagerly, for they had seen everything that He did in Jerusalem during the Feast; for they too had attended the Feast.

46So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son was lying ill in Capernaum.

47Having heard that Jesus had come back from Judea into Galilee, he went away to meet Him and began to beg Him to come down and cure his son, for he was lying at the point of death.

48Then Jesus said to him, Unless you see signs and miracles happen, you [people] never will believe (trust, have faith) at all.

49The king's officer pleaded with Him, Sir, do come down at once before my little child is dead!

50Jesus answered him, Go in peace; your son will live! And the man put his trust in what Jesus said and started home.

51But even as he was on the road going down, his servants met him and reported, saying, Your son lives!

52So he asked them at what time he had begun to get better. They said, Yesterday during the seventh hour (about one o'clock in the afternoon) the fever left him.

53Then the father knew that it was at that very hour when Jesus had said to him, Your son will live. And he and his entire household believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Jesus).

54This is the second sign (wonderwork, miracle) that Jesus performed after He had come out of Judea into Galilee.
