Is the SA Plus upgrade worth it?

Hi, I'm new here and trying to find ways to make my budget stretch further. Is the $30/yr cost worth it to upgrade to SA plus or can i do fine with the free membership? How does this site make any money? Thanks

Hi, dglasgal, and welcome to SA.

I upgraded to Sweeps Plus and am very glad I did.

In both SA and SP, you can see the same sweeps. SP does not give you additional listings, but it does give you extra features. It does help you customize your sweeps; you can make your own categories and save the sweeps however you want them. For me, having custom categories makes it easier for me to enter more sweeps daily, in an organized way that makes sense to me. Entering more sweeps more often should lead to more wins, more chances.

While it is true that you can use SA for free, and it is wonderful, it is also true that $30/year or 8 cents/day is a minuscule fee for these extra features, and a way of supporting the continuous hard work and innovations of the SA Administrators.

I think there is still a free 3-day trial membership which gives you a chance to try out the features. There is an instructional video also, which helps you navigate through the process.

I will look for some links for you. Many other people have answered your question enthusiastically and eloquently.

Still having the same issue... can't add a listing.

I've tried logging out and back in.

Mozilla and Microcrap's Internet Exploder... Still can't use the site properly. :cussing:

Here are some posts from when SP started. Many people appreciate that there are additional sweeping tools, separate listing for Facebook and Twitter, unlimited ways to customize and make your own lists...

How do you "tab"

I would like to use tabbing, so I can move on to the next sweepstake while the other one is loading. How do I do that? I use IE. Thank you!

Just open up as many tabs as you feel comfortable managing. I open four tabs and go up and down them entering my saved sweepstakes. I can't remember if IE7 has tabs, but IE8 does. If you don't have tab capability, you can just open extra windows up and go up and down them instead to enter. That's how I did it before I had tab capabilities.

Noob here. How do i know what's newly posted on the forums? I know i can look at the right side on all the forums but that is a little annoying to do, plus it won't show if there are more than one thread that have new posts.. Is there a list or something that just shows new posts or thread?

Hi, adama. welcome to SA!

There are three ways that I know of:

On the top, left, under Hello + your name, it says, "Show unread posts since last visit." Click on it to bring up all the latest posts.

In the left margin, the $ is highlighted for new posts.

At the end of the forum list, there is a section called Recent Posts. Just click on the ones that interest you.

If you spend an hour per day entering sweeps are you likely to win at least one prize per month?

 whereareyouterri

Since I've seen posts where someday started sweeping AFTER entering and winning a biggie from an ad for a sweeps on tv, in the store, etc. where they only entered that one sweep ONE time, and I've spent hour after hour, day after day entering with no wins to show for it, I think it's impossible to answer yes or no. It depends...

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!! :headbang:

Re: SweepsCheck

What does SweepsCheck do?

 greenbay78

SweepsCheck: Mark those sweeps you've entered/decided AGAINST entering. Makes doing end of the month sweeps a snap! Also allows you to quickly see the newest added, as you check back throughout the day, without having to look at the ones you already decided on!!! Remember - click Save my Sweepstakes or refresh the page if you have pop ups allowed at SA, to save.
